At the moment i dream of a game with the Hellenes and a Sea Empire with its capital Syracuse, but my mighty navy will not help me because the romans will come of the sicily and overrun me. I cant blockade the landbridge between sicily and italy and thats a big problem for my sea empire.

How is it possible to remove the landbridge between sicily and italy?

I hope you can help me. Thanks:yes:

You have to edit the map files (several of them) and it is not savegame-compatible.

I thought putting a ship where the landbridge is worked as a blockade? then again I´ve only ever tested this in MTW2, so I don´t know.

Have you tried putting a fort just on the Sicilian side of the landbridge and filling it with a stack of cheap units? That should deter the Romans from attacking for quite a while.

Editing landbridges is actually savegame compatible, though it may cause some strange province problems. (Edit: IIRC you just need to edit descr_regions.tga, the others aren't really necessary.)

Just remember to backup the original file and delete map.rwm before you test it out.

Ti. Marcellus Scato's method also should work.

Putting a ship there doesn't work. I tried blockading the Bosphorus with -three- Roman fleets just to be sure, and the Hayasdan armies marched right over anyway.

Land bridges in M2TW are a patch of water that both land and sea units can move on. In RTW (mods that use landbridges), they are pieces of land that only touch on the corner (kind of like a four square chess board). Since you can move horizontally, you can move troops from the top right to the bottom left and ships from the top left to the bottom right.

Since it is horizontal movement, you can't get in between the movement.

If you're attacked across a land bridge, what does the battle map look like? Is it like a ford?
