Was not really sure where to put this, so I figured it might go here.
My question: I want to use some traits and ancillaries with the mod, but I have a problem.
I do the "give_trait "Name" "Trait" number" but it never recognizes the character name. I can type it exactly as it is in the game, but it doesn't work. So my question, is how do you get it to work?
Which faction are you?
Romani? That's complicated. Just don't.
Anyone else? Use "Firstnamemiddlename Lastname", including hyphens and no space between firstname and middlename.

To quote one of the scripters about giving traits to Romani through the RTW shell:

I was playing as Pahlava.
And what about one of the spies I chose, who only had one name?
Edit: but let me go ahead and thank all of you for the help. :)

So Halik Il Watar, would be HalikIl Watar?
I tried that and it didn't work.
Nope. Read my instructions carefully and you'll see that middlename has a lowercase first letter.

I just tried Halikil Watar, and it didn't work. So the lower case middlename wasn't the problem.

Ok, it is not the name that is the problem.
I just started Carthage, and tried again. Using the captain milkpilles worked, but for some reason, the faction leader "Mago," could not be found. No matter what I tried, it just couldn't find him. Just four letters, no middle or last name.
Does it just not work with anyone above a captain?
Edit: the only family member out of all the ones in Carthage that would work, was Gisgo. None else would work, even though most of them had only one name.
Edit: anyone have any clue?
Weird. I would've thought Gisgo wouldn't have worked for you. Are you sure? I just started a game with them and it certainly didn't work. And you know why it doesn't work? Because all the family members seem to have a hidden last name, which is "ofcarthago" So if you put in RomeShell something like "give_trait "Mago ofcarthago" GoodLeader 3, it should work.
Try it out. Next time, check out the descr_strat file for names of generals.

The guy's last name is 'Il Watar' so it would be "Halik IlWatar".
Mago has a hidden last name, I believe he would be "Mago ofcarthage".

I never knew about the hidden last name. Thanks.
Edit: Thank you! I was putting Il in the wrong place, which I ended up doing for all of them. Thank you for all the help everyone.
Now to see some of those traits and ancillaries.
