View Full Version : Observation - BC: Armies hold torches during daylight battles

Just a funny observation I have made ever since I started playing BC.

I don't know if I am the only person to have this happen, but during many daylight battles I have noticed that some of the soldiers are holding torches (just as they would if they were fighting at night).

For example below, check the guy on the far bottom left.

Now I know why they call it the Dark Ages. No one could see during daylight! :clown:

Also has anyone ever notice this happen in vanilla? I cant say I ever did.

seriously though, did you post this in the bugs thread over at the twcenter? they'll probably fix it up in the next patch if you report it...

Hmmm, might just do that :idea2:

I wonder if having those little torches glowing on any battle would affect the performance of your game?

You do realise this has always happened in vanilla, Kingdoms, LTC, etc.? As far as I know it's a common quirk and I'm not sure why it happens on non-night time battles.

Nope, didnt notice anywhere else, thats why I asked.
edit: In saying this, I just looked through my old tga's of old vanilla campaigns and LTC campaigns and I didnt notice any torches burning in daylight though

I guess the game developers probably decided to leave armies with torches burning during daylight to make life easy for them. Its not a biggie anyways.

But seriously, I've noticed this quite a lot in vanilla. Just a guess but maybe it happens when the commanding General has the 'Night Fighter' trait?

Seems to happen when you select the night battle option and cancel it happens from time to time,,,
