What do the various priest/imam abilities exactly mean?

I understand piety, but what about the others?

How do you prevent disloyal armies from changing allegiance, as well?

Per the priests:
(This is all off memory)
Violence: Increases likelihood of crusades being called
Purity: Cant remember, think its a bonus to being elected to pope
Eligibility: bonus to being elected to pope
Bah, been so long since i played M2TW, reloaded it today. One of the modders should be able to help.

I believe unorthodoxy increases the chance of a priest turning into a heretic; thus sending your priests into lands where another religion is dominant is a double-edged sword: Their piety will increase, but so will their unorthodoxy.

In my experience the best way to prevent armies rebelling is to ensure your faction leader has a high authority; you can do this by winning lots of battles with him, and by making sure he has high either dread or chivalry. Also, I don't ever accept "man-of-the-hour" generals if they have any traits like "Speaks of Loyalty".

some of the priest attributes only come into play if he is ever elected pope (violence for example)

The two most important are Piety (obviosly) and then Orthdoxy/Unorthodoxy. The others only matter if he/she becomes Pope as far as I can tell.

Also seems that the further you are from your capital city or king, the likelihood of revolt from an officer-less army increases. I as well do not accept either Man of the Hour or new family members with negative loyalty traits at least if I can help it.

:smash: Off topic but an update on a previous question I asked about Man of the Hour and militia units. I can confirm that indeed raw militia CAN produce new officers as it happened yesterday on a Danish campaign. Whats more it was a rebel stack of only 3 units directly outside of my city which produced an officer for me.

Is there a mod that gives "charm" to priests? There should be.
