I swear, the AI knows when I'm about to go out or have a meal, and will always attack me and make me fight a battle when this is the case. Anyone else noticed this?

Nope. I'm sorry for your loss, though :). I give you this, to help ease your pain: :balloon2:
Press "P" for Pause?!? Eat and/or Go Out!:smash:
At least that`s how I do it......
I just eat while I play... Works well enough.

I very much know what you mean. When I'm doing my final end turn to save and quit (for a number of reasons, amonst them, the most irritating is my brother continuously bothering me to go to the computer), the AI always manages to use their huge stacks to attack me at those precise times. Fortunatly, since I normally only play vanilla RTW nowadays (EB's too damn slow), and since I'm in a Post-Marian Roman campaign, I usually end those mighty battles rather quickly. :)

AHHHH the good ol days of hold the line with 3-4 hastati or post marian cohorts and charge with a unit of light mercenary cavalry.
Never failed in vanilla....always routed entire armies in like 4 seconds lol...at least in medium mode...
in hard mode my troops would just get chewed up so it was a race for whoever could route the other >.>
damned fast kill rate >.>

one advice: get another computer from a pawn shop and give it to him-let him mutilate it..hehe
