How many have you have ever found yourself down in the misc sections of .org

It took me a few weeks before I ventured into the front room after a mishap in my explorations of the monastery

For those of you who dont know what is contained in the misc section heres a slight summary of each part.

Watchtower (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=26)
You can submit issues or inquiries about whats going on at our website here. Some interesting topics should you be in the mood for trying to help influence org rules and whatnot here.

Monastery (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=16)
The more historically accurate version of .org. There are historical fictions also posted here, as well as history quiz and other topics containing all sorts of history

The Arena (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=46)
The 'other' game section of .org. There are game reviews, previews, and updates! OH MY! You can go here to discuss a multitude of things about other games that we Orgahs play.

Hardware and software (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=132)
Like it says, come here to talk about computer hardware or have question why such 'n such isn't working. There are many people who know how to fix it.

And the tavern, which I'll not link to but explain it's sub categories.

Gameroom (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=156)
I don't know to much about the Game room other than the fact that they well, play games in there. If your into Roleplaying join in there is usually something open in there

Frontroom (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=48)
One of my more favorite spots on .org, go here to post stuff(other than politics) talk about how you saw a beautiful girl walking down the street, ask for lyrics to some song in a language thats dead to 99.99% of the world and have some one post the correct translation. It's also home to the babe thread and the beat the picture above you thread.

Backroom (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=19)
The debate portion of our forum lies here. It covers everything that isn't in the other spots from, Politics to Using fetuses for art. You have to ask permission to be allowed back there though, but its an interesting place to visit, or become a contributor too.

It took week to venture out of the R:TW Guides. Even after that my moments were only confined inside the Coliseum. Eventually one of my threads posted in the Coliseum was moved to the Monastery and then had I began to explore the Guild fully.

How do you join the Backroom?

Backroom membership can be requested through your User CP => group membership. Your application has to be approved by Ser Clegane first, though.

What do you have to do to be approved?

What do you have to do to be approved?Simply conduct yourself in a rational and correct fashion elsewhere to show you can cope in a more heated and political environment. You've already done this, so acceptance shouldn't really be a problem.

Now who is attempting to become a mod JK? How about changing your thread title to quite new members as the majority of them subforums cannot be accessed by a JM.

Already requested to join Backroom, didn't fill the reason as Omanes suggested.

I never had to actually join the backroom. I got my access when I reached member status.

Edit: Oops,I guess I do have to join. maybe I was confusing the backroom with the frontroom. Oh well, entry request just sent.

I didn't mean to add the ? mark and no I'm not going for mod, just wanted to do something while I was in the awkward silence mode

Bah, I spent my first few months reading nothing but Duke John's guides in The Repository. I've left there with the knowledge of how to add a super-trooper-Sword-Saint-mega-kensai unit to MTW that can take down entire armies before dying... Good times with that Mega-Ultra-Super-Kensai. :wink2:

And wait, you have to join the backroom? Since when!?

What's with the Library:inquisitive: . The latest posts dates like five years ago.:sweatdrop: I visited R:TW and found only one thread, and can't post anything else.:dizzy2:

They don't call it an archive for nothing, you know? :laugh4:
But I don't know why it's there... I think it's from when the org switched servers or did a total re-write of the .org or something... predates my time but every now and again when you search the forums you stumble upon a thread with an odd layout and tags that don't match up with the ones used now... Perhaps a more senior member can help.

It's related the early pre-2003 days of the .Org. Back then restrictions were imposed by the company which maintain and host the forum on the number of posts which it could contain. If the number of posts were exceeded, the site would be automatically shut down. From old Watchtower threads, this seems to have happened a couple of times at least.

To prevent the most interesting and informative posts having to be thrown away, the administrators of the time choose to set up an archive forum to contain these sorts of things. Periodically they would extract such useful posts, and then remove the rest from the system.

Fortunately, the company eventually removed the restriction, although the archives forum and its information has so far remained up to this day.

Thanks for the info Omanes. Anyway when I looked at the public groups there are plenty of them.:dizzy2: What do each of them do anyway? Thanks.:beam:

Most of the groups allow access to specific forums. Mainly these forums are used for private modding discussion over a certain modification by team members. Rather than simply selecting to enter these groups, it is often better you talk to the team members themselves in their forum before signing up through this system.

The Backroom and Gameroom groups are exceptions though. "Backroom" allows access to the Backroom, the home of debating over many ethical, political and religious topic, and "Gameroom" access to the Gameroom, the home of mafia and similar forum games.

Where the list of joined groups is shown your primary user group is displayed. This is basically what your rank is at current, be it "Junior Member", "Member", "Senior Member", "Assistant Moderator", "Moderator", "Administrator" or "Forum Administrator".

Who are the Administrators? I know Tosa is Forum Admin but I do not think that I have ever seen just an admin.

Ser Clegane is the administrator here (under Tosa).
