This photo shows all the buildings and the bar at the bottom looking better than my game looks. My question is how do you make your game look this good.

That looks like the game is being run in software mode, that causes nasty offline lag they do it on purpose to entice you into buying the game (looks nice).

Correct me if im wrong please cause im not sure.

Go back to an intermediate alpha build?

The 'Summer 1093' as well as the general appearance looks like that game is more along the lines 'Shogun, the Europe Mod 1.1' than what became MTW. I mean, there's a merchant displayed for every single good at the province, the original strategic ideas must have been very different than what shipped.

The seasonal turn thing is interesting. I wish that was at least an option now.

I think, overall, that screen does look a little better than what they shipped. Thats strange.

so what settings does a person use to get their screen to look like this?
(buy a new computer?)

you can't (perhaps with heavy modding, but i doubt it). the screen is from an early build of MTW that was improved upon to get what we have today.

looks substantially worse than the current version, imo.

That brings back memories...

That screenshot dates from some time ago. The campaign map graphic hasn't yet been redrawn to give it a more 3D feel and make the seas less cluttered. The building icons are still the detailed versions with colourful backgrounds, which look nice but make it quite hard to distinguish them (if indeed this isn't the version where you can't distinguish them at all!) And the building parchment hasn't been decorated yet.

You won't get your version looking like this with a single option, but you can redraw the building icons all you like.

personally i think that the maps colours are too dull... predominantly brown.. im tempted to go back and edit this so they look greener

Hmm, I like the way it is more than the old screenshot....

Hey give us back seasons. That would rock.

And why would you want that? Would you feel like waiting 64 turns for a Citadel? Or do you still want a Citadel to take 16 turns, in which case there is no net effect of seasons except that money only comes in once every 4 turns. Also, unless my memory is way off, the maximum *number* of turns in MTW isn't very much different from the number in STW. They simply rebalanced the game economy around money coming in every turn, it's much better this way than Shogun's scractch yourself for three turns, order some builds, start scratching again cycle.
