Hello!
One thing I've been wondering, is this: What if I wipe out a country from the face of the earth, and then a rebellion uprising finds place there (say, if I've taken out the English, and London revolts). Will the country then respawn, or what?
Thanks in advance! :afro:

OK. Thanks!
In the original MTW factions would re-emerge. Sometimes right in the middle of you own empire. Also, some new factions would emerge such as the Bergundians. However, as FactionHeir stated they unfortunately, are wiped out for good in M2TW. Hopefully, Empire will bring this back.

You can always do a mod that makes them reappear after they have been wiped out ..
with free factions slots and horde option it is possible .. right??:book:
just need something to trigger there appearens ....
it would look like something from BI .. slavs and romano british ..
at least I think it is possible :inquisitive:

When a faction is eliminated it should respawn in America just like the Irish did.

Worth noting about rebellion cities is that if you take a city purely to sack itand then withdraw and let it go rebel it will get a formidable army spawned there. In MTW1 as far as I remember the size of the rebel stack was proportional to the number of units in the region and were generally low tech. In MTW2 though, even if you destroy all the troop making buildings and clear right out the region, the computer will grant the rebels a relatively high tech balanced stack.
This is fun for the player to have decent rebel opponents, but a bit of an exploit because you can just go to the enemies capital, sack it, sell all their buildings and let it go rebel and they will have such a task to get it back.
Interestingly following this tactic with the Scottish one time I had modern day Britain and France and was trying to tech up and go peaceful for a while. The Mailinese were sizeable just would not leave me alone, so one by one I sacked their cities, each time offering peace in exchange for their (ok ravaged!) cities. They always refused so I continued until they could hardly muster an army and retreated to my fronteirs leaving a mass of rebels. The interesting part is that the papacy took them all and very quickly! They became a huge superpower and were fielding entire stacks of swissguards and knights. Thats the only time I've seen the papacy really go mad as they did ocaasionally in MTW1
I miss reemergences though. It was always a threat hanging over you to keep you on your toes and to havve decent garrisons and always fun to forment one in a rival's territory! I liked the Swiss and Burgundese too.

Interestingly, Trigger, I just got done doing the same thing to the Byzantines as the HRE. I gave Sofia and Nicea to the Pope, sold all improvements in Constantinople, and let Constantinople go rebel. The Pope captured Constantinople and has a very effective army. New Popes even appears in Sophia! What causes that to happen, I wonder?

Papacy moved its capital to Sophia.
