I just use them as normal heavy infantry, nothing special, just point them in the direction of the enemy and make them attack.

Yeah, you see red- or blonde-headed Egyptians in the Fayyum with greater frequency than you do elsewhere, but there aren't any indicators of specifically northern european genetic markers in the modern Egyptian population. So physically, you might (rarely) see things that make you say "Galatian or Thracian/Balkan descent" based on hair color, skin tone, or facial structure, but genetically, its invisible. Shoot, southern European markers are practically invisible. There were never more than several thousand Galatians in Egypt, among a population estimated to be about 7 million. Less than 1 in 100,000 is not going to have a major genetic impact.

I have never played them, but I've killed zillions of them, to me there just decent heavy infantry, because they take time to crack, but they have never posed a nasty threat, my Sarissa inf and Thoratiki flank troops hold them until it's cav and Nellie time.

The AI relies on then to much IMO as alot die on pike tips and having no spears means they don't like it up em when heavy cav repeatedly charge.
For super inf (although they cost more, if that bothers you) I prefer Elite spear troops, because their more versatile.

Mmm, I think the former is what we were going for (seeing a few more northern European phenotypes on occasion, as food for thought).

and personally i've never had much trouble killing them. they do get produced in numbers that are too large, but that's what'll be great about EB2...we can limit that.
