So at the beginning of a new campaign, I activated the script immediately, played for a while, then saved the game and went back to it the next day. After playing a few turns, and after already saving, I realized I had not turned on the script. Does this mean my campaign is screwed now, or the next time I load that saved game, will everything be fine again as long as I am sure to activate the script?

You should be ok with just starting the script and continuing your campaign. You should check the year though. You would have been running at twice the speed and could have lost a few years if you played a bunch of non script turns.

I think if you only played a few turns, i.e. 2, you might get away with it. I'm sure a member will tell you for definite though.

Yeah this campaign is very new. I think currently I'm at 269 BC, so I don't think I could've played more than 2 or 3 turns before I realized my mistake, so hopefully it'll be OK. The worst that can happen is I just get the reforms a few turns late, right? But as long as I get them and everything else works, I'm happy.

I'm pretty sure you don't lose turns if you forget to activate the script for a few turns. I've seen a couple people complaining about not getting Polybian Reforms that didn't get it come 210 BC, then they activate the script to only move back to the 240 BC period.

Anyways, a few turns shouldn't hurt you, but any longer will break the AI. Without the script, I'm pretty sure the provinces the AI takes won't get their governments and barracks. They'll be broke all the time. So you'll have a really easy time killing off enemy factions this way.

This probably has been asked a million times already, but I guess there is no way to make the script just automatically start and permanently stay activated whenever you start a campaign? I guess if it were possible, it would've long since been done already. lol

It would be a disaster when you have to avoid a CTD though(especially the 66 BC one)

It just takes some getting used to(but I have over year exp with this.

There is no way to automatically start the script. As you said, if it were possible it would have been done already. M2TW, however, does allow for scripts to be activated automatically.
