Series of game reviews I discovered a few days ago. Quite hilarious. Think the Angry Video Game Nerd with less anger and more British-ness.

There is some foul language however, so don't click this if that offends you.

My personal favourite is his review of Clive Barker's Jericho (by Clive Barker).

Well, that'll teach me to believe the search function when it doesn't come up with anything relating to this. :furious3:

Hehe, no problem ~;)

Enjoy, they're great. Next one's out tomorrow.

Personally, I can't wait for him to review GTA IV.

I highly recommend his Guitar Hero 3 review. :laugh4:

I'd say they're all pretty good. Might take a while to watch them all though for the people who've just started watching. Definitely worth it though.

I've watched about 10 of them so far and I've got to say that it was an hour of my life well spent, unlike Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines which I'll never get back. :shame:

As a source of entertainment, they're good. But for substantiative reviews, they're obviously lacking.

Awww. Are you upset because he insulted SSBB?

As a source of entertainment, they're good. But for substantiative reviews, they're obviously lacking.

They're not meant to be substantive reviews, though if he actually does say a lot of positive things, you can probably bet the game is good. He states in one of them that "no one likes me when i'm actually being nice to a game" or something along those lines. So, he emphasizes the games flaws so he has something to work with.

I thought he was rather harsh on SSBB, but the bashing of fanboys of any variety is great in my book. :laugh4:

Only good as amusement, as has been stated.

Yeah love that guy. He's Ozzy by the way.

Uh. No he isn't.

Yahtzee is a British-born, currently Australian-based writer and gamer with a sweet hat and a chip on his shoulder.

If you read the end credits(which are always funny as well) on the latest he states that all the SSBB fanboys will go to the nearest Wii forum and complain that he is not a real reviewer which is so sad but true.
Everytime he bash someting that has a huge fanbase(like Halo for example) they always go on and on about he is not a serious reviewer and bla bla bla and yet when he bash a game they hate they do a flip and say what a good reviewer he is.

Overall I say he is a good reviewer. He isn't afraid of pointing out flaws and does actually state the positive things as well(as long as it isn't the obviously, like the graphics are nice which is just pointless to point out these days.)

Uh. No he isn't.Born British, yeah. But an Australian citizen, I thought. Could be wrong.

So he holds dual-citizenship. Who cares? All that matters is how good a reviewer he is. And I think he's one of the best, up there with Armake21. Whereas Armake21 actually plays the game while he's reviewing, Yahtzee gives his review with hilarious imagery. It definitely keeps your attention, which is what some other reviewers fail to do.

Problem is, I'm looking for substantive information when I read reviews. I don't read them for entertainment, any more than a person researches cars before he makes a purchase for entertainment. He is quite effective at pointing out glaring flaws in games, but the detail is not really there to make a completely informed purchase decision.

When I don't treat it like a legitimate review, well, it is pretty funny, which is why I continue to watch some of them.

From a technical standpoint, his reviews are nit-picky and wildly inconsistent in their criticism. From an entertainment standpoint- they're hilarious. I enjoy watching them for the humor regardless of whether or not I agree with his statements. Obviously though, it's sometimes funnier when he points out flaws that I too have noticed in games.

You might want to try Armake21's Games That Suck and Context Sensitive reviews. You get to see him playing the game as he's reviewing, so you'll be able to see the review from the view of a gamer rather than a reviewer. One thing that surprised me is that he liked Vampire Rain, whereas everyone else on the planet blasted it as a bad game. After watching his review, I bought the game and liked it too. It's not great, but it's certainly not a bad game.
