in the campaign i have about 8 fights each round. i always save before the round ends and then i do all battles automatically and note the casualties. then i load and try to fight them battles myself with less casualties. but that sux if i suceed to fight 3 battles better, and then i loose a battle which i would have won with auto fight. i wanna save between battles..... is that possible (cheat?, Proggie? update?, Patch?)
thx

No

Crush your enemies, see them driven before you on the field of battle, and hear the lamentation of their women.

Sounds like you're trying to get the best results possible, all the time, using saving/reloading. If that's how you like to play, by all means go ahead, but I'd like to suggest you play a turn and take your wins/losses in stride.
It makes the game more satisfying knowing that you reached that point "honestly". If you play a certain battle again and again, you will eventually find a way to win taking the least amount of casualties; but commanders of that day didnt have the luxury, and had to rely only on their past experience through trial and error.
I've had great generals take bad defeats, had 1500 men armies routed, but my empire lived on for another hundred years. And it is just as fun to think of the ones that got away than the ones you won.. not to mention the great feeling of retribution you get when you slaughter that army that trampled on you the turn before...

saving between battles would help frustratration if the game crashes in battle even if its only the second battle of three.
or if your girlfriend gets angry with you because you spend 4 hours playing battles!
