View Full Version : Incest isn't working
I've gone through roughly 100 (give 10 or take 5) of the 172 pages of posts and I can't figure out why my children can't partake in incest in order to provide my faction heir with children. Does this only work in 1.3 vanilla? Or is incest only possible with the eastern european countries?:dizzy2:
thanks in advance

Ermm, sorry to disappoint you, but cousins are as far as you can go I'm afraid. :sweatdrop:
oh really? I guess I misunderstood what people were saying about marrying your princess to the faction heir.
Yeah i've been meaning to get this game for a long time and it never occured to me to go to this forum to talk about the game. Glad I found you all.
All right I guess it's back to searching for fertility improvement...

That was something that was available in MTW I believe (sorry been too many years to recount).
M2TW does not give you the option to marry within the family.
You can marry your princess to another factions heir (if he is not already married) to form an alliance.

Like the others said, you can only marry your princess to your Faction Heir if they are cousins or even more distantly related, you cannot marry a brother to his sister, this probably stops you spawning uber generals at the start of the game by marrying your best princess to a great general, imagine france doing that, Constance and some other general, theyd have awsome children, so i might be slightly unfair, if you see my point
You could do this in the original MTW, although it is not a good idea since your character and his sons will get very bad traits as a result; I sometimes did though when all the foreign princesses were stubbornly refusing to marry into my family and my family line was in danger of dying out; in MTW, only the faction leader would marry of his own accord, you had to arrange marriages for the heirs, so if you'd gotten sloppy about it you could find that your new king ascends to the throne aged 65, unmarried and with no heirs. This is the only way I've ever actually lost a campaign in a TW game.
But then, in MTW, the game would let you assassinate your own faction leader, even if it will result in you losing the campaign. Not generally a great idea, but nice that the option was there if you wanted it.

If you could do it the Pope would excommunicate you.

In MTW1 I sometimes used this perversion as a way to break up my own faction...also assasinating the king. I liked how you could chose sides in your civil war that ensued. I found it amusing to nurse along a fraction of my former greatness as well as extract revenge on my own :beam: I never understood why the faction-splitting never made it to MTW2 esp since defeated factions no longer appear.

Yeah the re-appear feature was great, really prolonged the interesting part of a campaign, and let you fight the late era unit roster of factions you had already conquered.
Best thread title ever, QFT.

I do believe that april is the Incest time on the forums, although mainly belonging in the back room, you some how have put it in too MTW2
You can marry with in your faction, but not with in the family (So adopted hiers and the like can be married) this is a good way to make sure your best general and your best princess create a very good family tree
When marrying into another faction, that has already had a member of your family in that paticular tree, you can marry again with no problems, I am unsure weather they'll have the typical "Inbred Nutcase syndrome" but Other wise go ahead
There are several incest traits. They are: 'A bit odd', 'Of dubious' Lineage', 'Inbred', 'Woefully Inbred', 'Spawn of Incest' (brother and sister), 'Betrothed to Mother' (mother and son). There is a 1% chance of getting this trait when your family member comes of age. Also an inbred father is also more likely to have an inbred child.
However it seems impossible to get this trait beyond Of dubious' Lineage (level 2).
