Hullo folks ~
I've been using Firefox 3 Betas since Beta 2 (and am currently using Beta 5). If anyone's curious you can get the latest pre-release milestone from here (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html) - it's a dramatic improvement over Firefox 2 - especially in the speed and performance department.

It's pretty much feature complete at this stage and sometime within the next couple of weeks it'll be moving into release candidate status. Presumably this'll result in only bug fixes being included.

Due to this, I feel the need to report a small problem with the way choosing to go to New Posts and the Final Post in a thread works in the latest Beta. This bug has only appeared since the release of Beta 5 and, in a quick look, also appears to be a problem in the latest trunk build.

The issue is that the browser seems to not scroll far enough down the page to get to the post requested (either the first unread post or final post). This results in me being forced to scroll down.

From what I can gather, what seems to happen is that it scrolls down prior to the page being fully loaded, resulting in it locking to an incorrect point.

At a wild guess, I'd be tempted to blame it on the dramatic speed increases in the JavaScript engine - executing before the page has fully loaded. As I've said, that's a guess though and it may be related to something else entirely.

This may be a browser bug, but I'm just mentioning it in case its a forum issue rather the a Firefox 3 one.

Hope this is useful (and I also hope everybody can understand it - I didn't know quite how to explain the problem) ~:)

BTW, on a much more optimistic note, the smiley selection box appears as it should do while posting in the latest Beta :2thumbsup:

I actually have this problem with the current edition of Firefox. I don't even bother using the "go to new posts" function anymore, except on threads with multiple pages.

I have it as well but it's usually just one post too high or so so it's not that big of an issue for me.
