Early: Danes

Nahh, the Danes are actually pretty decent from the Early period. I never had any difficulties with them certainly.

i found egyptian in high REALLY hard mostly caus the french tend to try and knock you out before you can do a thing but maybe its just my style of play. hvent really used late. as for high HRE can be hard but sometimes its a breeze, egypt is still fairly hard, so is poland.

I haven't played with all factions yet. Among the four that I have played (Danish, English, Spanish, Almohad and all in Early period):

Early: Spanish (harder in GA victory).

They have the AUM all for themselves. Well, may be share with the Egyptian.

Funny how opinions differ.

I found Danish and SPanish to be the two easiest factions to play on Early (I always play on Hard setting).

Turks I found the most difficult so far on early.

Playing Aragon with a mod looks like a challenge as well, but havent tried it.

Yeah, I was also wondering abuot the differences... http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif I also think spanish on early is very easy. Currently I tried starting with Aragon and Turks in early time and I noticed that it proved a bigger challenge. Both factions resulted in a loss the first time I tried them. Especially the Arogonese require an aggressive aproach.

Well, I'm curious how other people think of the different factions. Till now I tried Danish, English, French, Spanish, HRE, Turks and Aragonese on early and think the Aragonese are the most difficult one on early.

I've tried Turks(both in late&early) and English (early)always in Hard. I know it is early to talk about it but Early Turks was the hardest(I can recommend to every player. But sure I have to try Polish, Danes, Byzantine (in late) and Aragonese to see differences.

Early: HRE is pain in the arse - too many poor provinces to defend, too many aggresive neighbours, too much hussle and micromanagement to start with.

Turks: They got two very strong neighbours with overwhelming potential for an early kick-start (Byzantines and Egyptians) so they usually end up dead and burried.

High: - haven't played much in high, actually. Only the Byzantines and they ain't hard at all.

Late - Novgorod is a real bitch - very tough, especially if you walk the path of the conqueror. Byzantium is equally (if not more) tough.

Easiest factions: English in all eras (the starting position is superd) Danes in early (their advantages have been discussed alot) Italian in all three eras (lots of money early in=easy game) and Byzantines on early. Also, the Turks on Late are quite easy. Not to mention the Elmoheads... they are very easy on Early and High, but require endless battling... not my taste.
