I am an experienced RTW modder who has just started playing M2TW. My question is a small one: where is the EDU file? I've looked everywhere and can't find it. I've heard that it is located in the data folder (as it was in Rome), but I've looked and it isn't there. In fact, there aren't any files in the data folder, just a few folders. So my question is: where are the files? EDU EDB, DMB and so on.
Thank you for your time.

Use the unpacker. It comes with either 1.1 or 1.2.
Example code you can use:
C:\Medieval2\tools\unpacker\unpacker.exe --source=c:\medieval2\packs\*.pack --destination=c:\medieval2\tools\unpacker\ --filter=descr_*.txt

I ran the unpacker but I can't find the unpacked files. They most certainly aren't in the data folder.:help:

You need to adjust the code I posted to where you have your own M2TW folder and subfolders.

Replace C:\Medieval2 with wherever your folder is.

1. Again, where and how do I do that? Is there some file I can open and change that?
2. Ever since I ran the unpacker, my M2:TW crashes every time I try to fight a battle and I get this message: "Medieval 2: Total War has encountered an error and will now exit." Any idea why that is and how I can fix it? Re-install maybe?

1. In the very shortcut file you created to run that code in the first place
2. Delete the two geography files. Read the readme of your unpacker.

I think I'm doing something wrong here. Those geography files that are suppoesd to be in my data folder don't exist. Also, I didn't created any shortcut file to run any code, I just ran the unpack_all batch file.
EDIT: I've done a little reseaerch and apparently windows vista screws everything up by dumping the files in "mymodfolder". Anyone know where this is or how I can solve this problem?
Found this out at twc btw:
