Hi everyone, just wanted to know all of you arena fan's favourite genre, sees we all play plenty of games. Vote away.
You do know there is not really a point for the "Everything!" option if it is a multiple selection poll. Just making sure. :smug2:
But I chose the "Everything" option anyway. I like all genres, everything. Point-'n'-Click, Text-Based, Turn-Based, Hex-Based, Real-Time, Platformers, Side-Scrollers, Action-Adventure. Classic DOS games, old SNES games, ground-breaking XBOX-360 games, ultra-detailed PS3 games, uber-fun Wii games. Really, I just love games. :cool4:

I picked RTS, cause you know, I just got the micro. Its kinda easy to micro one guy in an FPS, but you need uber micro and like skills to micro an army on three fronts, you'know.
Like i dont need an army man, all i need is myself, so bring your tanks, cause i got frags I GOT FRAGS!!!
Wait, so its like a 1 ranger army vs my like flame tanks an stuff?
UUUuhh look at me! Mr. Mechanical tank with no balls!
Basically RTS is win.

You forgot Strategy, ie: Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
First person shooters/sneakers/adventures and turnbased strategy
I clicked all the options then saw everything and clicked that, and forgot to unselect the others. Woops. :embarassed:
I like all types as long as they aren't too tacky.
Used to love RTSs, was a hardcore Age of Empires fan but got bored of the clicking and switched over to RTTs with the TW series.
FPS, RPG, Simulators etc are all nice, but I find very few games among these actually worth it. Last FPS I actually liked were Medal of Honour Allied Assault and Pacific Assault. And ofcourse, Return to Castle. Haven't tried Cysis yet.
RPG, well there is Oblivion, and played Witcher. Both are absolutly different, but liked them both.
Picked Everything, though that's not quite true. I'm pretty much evenly divided in my playing time. 1/3 each on Strategy (real time and turn based), FPS, and RPG. I love all three genres and will never stop playing them. However, I don't like sports games, MMOs, and non-FPS action games (i.e. platform games). I like sims and puzzle games, but I don't play them very often.

If I had to pick one: TBS
Gah! There's no option for turn-based strategy games. :furious3:

RPGs here. Really like the hardcore DnD ones like NWN/Baldur's Gate

Im sorry my poll isn't perfect guys :embarassed:
I was only really going for the major but now I see how wrong I was. I blame it on the fact that I am human.
Oh, it's ok. We flightsimheads are used to being treated like the nerds of the game world.

Everything on the list besides MMO.

I think the TW combine of TBS and RTS is brilliant. I play mostly TBS and less RTS games...though binges of FPS or RPGs happen...SimCity binges do too.
Flight sims...hmmm...might have to try some of them, wouldn't want to lose my standing as a computer nerd. I mostly wait for discount rack games, but would pay full pop for a remake of TIE fighter with current graphics.

Due to a lack of RTCS (Real Time Combat Simulator) I went with FPS.

About the only strategy games I like are the TW series and they really don't fit the typical RTS genre like say a Civ game or AOE, and I although I can enjoy an FPS they are far from my favorite.
I started out in PC gaming with combat flying sims --mixed with the occasional naval or armor sim, so I would still have to list those as my favorites.
I also enjoy humorous adventure games like the Sam & Max or the Monkey Island series.
I also did not vote since the poll included neither of these last two genres
Cheers
Oh, oh, the only one I dislike is anime-cartoony-side-on-arcade-like-fighters. Very specific, but you have to be when it comes to games. Things like Naruto etc. they get on my nerves where it's pretty much just button mashing, I'd rather be playing a mass point-click-ultra-long adventure game than uber-only-young-kids-button-mashing fighter anyday. Things that are on the border line include Mortal Kombat (I play it 'cause it's a classic that i played when I was very young) and the Soul Caliber series. Oh and P2P MMO's aren't nearly as fun as F2P or pay once MMO's.
Which brings me to another thing, button mashing is no fun at all - this includes Dynasty Warriors etc.
At the moment, I'm on a big RPG kick with just a smattering of action and/or platforming mixed in. Really though, I have played and will play virtually any genre.

Dude, who let the flightsim fans in here? I thought this was a party for cool kids ...
I like any well-made game, but I'm an extra-big sucker for an RPG. Heck, I even like it when other genres include RPGish elements.
