Good morning.
First, bravo for the mod EB very good job . It is with a translator that I can write and read English, but as often with the translator there are imperfections and therefore phrases that do nothing more to say once translated. therefore regrettable for translation errors that can occur.
Here is my matereil. P4 1.4 mhz, 1giga of sdram 5200 graphics card nvidia 256m0 hdd 40 giga.Win xp.
To install the mod 1.1 I refere to your installation page.
So the games works well, very slow to start. I reinstall my computer 3 times and re-EB 1.1 three times but the error is always there. :clown:
Here's the problem:
when I play with the Romans reforms do not work.
I always the same units of debut at the end of games.
I never had the following units when I make custom battle or campaign:

Velites (Polybian Skirmishers)
Principes (Late)
Triarii (Late)
Eqvites Romani (Polybian Roman Citizen Cavalry)
Eqvites Consvlares (Republican Consular Guard Cavalry)
Antesignani (Post Marian Elite Legionary Light Infantry)
Cohors Reformata (Post Marian Legionary Cohort)
Cohors Evocata (Post Marian Reenlisted Veterans Cohort)
Eqvites Thracvm (Thracian Auxiliary Cavalry)
Eqvites Hispanorvm (Hispanic Auxiliary Cavalry)
Eqvites Gallorvm (Gallic Auxiliary Cavalry
Eqvites Germanorvm (Germanic Auxiliary Cavalry)
Vigiles (Town Watch)
Cohors Imperatoria (Imperial Legionary Cohort)
Cohors Praetoriana (Cohort of the Imperial Praetorian Guard)
Eqvites Praetoriani (Cavalry of the Imperial Praetorian Guard)
Ala Imperatoria (Imperial Cavalry Wing)
Eqvites Singvlares (Picked General's Guard Cavalry)
Cohors Validvm Avxiliarivm (Imperial Heavy Auxiliary Infantry Cohort)-Western
Cohors Validvm Avxiliarivm (Imperial Heavy Auxiliary Infantry Cohort)-Eastern

I know who read the FAQ thing I empressser read.
So small question --
-- For the reform polybian must be upgrading your MICs?
What is MICs?:help:

you can have reform without having all these presrequi, and all units Roman automatically at a specified date?
If so thank you to me indicate

Europa Barbarorum FAQ
Romans: 3
Polybian
The Polybian Reforms happen due to a change in equiptment and tactics that were adopted or adapted due to wars with Carthage and Celts.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
At least year 242
-Hold 2 of these cities (Segesta, Mediolanum, Patavium, Bononia)
-Hold 2 of these cities (Lilibeo, Messana, Syracuse)
OR
-Wait until 210BC
(You get the new units only after upgrading your MICs.)

The issue with custom battles can be solved by having the Trivial Script installed. (Its installer is packed inside the main installer you downloaded; so you should be able to install it using that one...)

In any case when/if the Trivial Script is installed; you can use that to quickly swap several files around in order to make mulitplayer or single player work (due to the EB recruitment system both can't work at the same time...).

To do so:
1) Running Mulitplayer or custom battles using the Play Multiplayer shortcut; or from the Configuration shortcut (be sure to select the right option from the frst menu which appears...) Use these for custom (multiplayer or singleplayer) battles.
2) Running Singleplayer can be done similarly; this time using the Play Singleplayer or the Configuration shortcut. Use these for campaigns.

For the Polybian reforms it is required that you upgrade your MIC's (aka barracks) to the Polybian era ones from the Camillan era ones. This will only be possible after the prerequisites have been met...

For the Marian reforms it is required to build a complete new type of barracks as the Marian era ones cannot fit on the chain of Camillan and Polybian ones due to the limits the RTW engine has... Your Polybians should be damaged by the script at that time; just destroy them for some quick cash to finance your Marian mules...

For the Augustan reforms it is required to upgrade your Marian era MIC's to Augustan era ones...

thank you for the answer.
But I am not a professional.
actually I just want to play and only a campaign EB
with the Roman units.
I resume:

1) I have to run the configuration scrip EB.
Here are the details of my configuration scrip EB

Game type = singke player
ligthing = recommended
Units nudity = Naked

RTW command line option
error only shows him tick.
Preference everything is checked off.

2) when I run it tells me Trivial Script
Row: 0 description: failed open file

3) if I play a short campaign EB, j'aurrais all units.

At the end of the installation of mod 1.1 EB, there is a message to me indicate that the installation has been a success.
but if there are any file that I must remove as corrupt, or précissez action and what I do.
thank you for the time spent to respond.

Well as I said before: playing single player (as you seem to do, jugding by what you wrote) basically disables proper recruitment selection in custom battles.

However, on the campaign everything should just work fine; provided you meet ALL the requirements and take the neccesary steps to upgrade/construct the apporpiate barracks.

What I forgot to mention, though, is the following thing:

Assume you are about to reach the Polybian reforms but you have (for some reason or another) just ordered some upgrade of some barracks (say in Ariminum). What happens with the reforms is that you can no longer build the old type of barracks; so if your city of Ariminum was still in the process of upgrading that old type of barracks -- this process will need to be canceled first; before you can move onto upgrading to Polybian era type barracks.

=========================================================

The first time you run the Trivial Script you will always encounter such an error as you just described; it should go away the next time. To make absolutely sure that it indeed does go away you can adjust some settings and then adjust them back again through the options menu "INSIDE" the game.

The reason why this error occurs is that the Trivial Script relies on the existance of a special preferences.txt file. This file needs to be generated by the RTW.exe in the correct location first before everything will work. However this is exactly what should be done the very first time you run EB and it certainly is done when you adjust your settings as described above; hence this problem should not continue to persist.

Finally, may I suggest that you append your original message (in French) to your posts? People like me who have at least a basic understanding of French can use it to understand your English better. And I know there are other people from France who visit these boards.

Have you started the background script? You need to do this to get the reforms. When the advisor appears, click him and then "Show me how".

You might want to follow the advice before going to such a time-consuming effort. Then again, it's your time.

I am sorry to say that it looks like the French localisation (French version if you will) of RTW is incompatible with EB. Try the English versions of RTW 1.3 and RTW 1.5 to see if it fixes the problem; it's been reported to fix problems with EB here: https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?p=1910051#post1910051

Will it be legal for me to post the english localized files here? I would presume so, as they're not usable without the rest of the game?

Problem is it *can't* have been the text files. At least, whatever goes into the String fields in the text files should simply be regarded by the parsers as just that: String litterals. Which means you can put German text inside those fields for all the parsers care; or Sanskrit.

If it can't've been the text files; and for similar reasons any form of 'artwork' then it must be something to deal with the different keyboard layout (AZERTY) which somehow manages to interfere with the other code. That or perhaps there's some integrity mechanism going berserk (ini files?).

But for the life of me: why?! :dizzy2:

Perhaps someone from CA can explain this a bit?
