Hey all

I don't know if anyone has noticed this, but...

I don't think your ruler can die of natural causes if he is part of a crusade. As the Germans, my Emperor joined a crusde that got bogged down early on when I tried to pass through the Byz. Empire. Since then I have been stuck in a massive war with the rest of the world (I've conquered most of Christian Europe). My Emperor is now nearing 110 years of age! I'm guessing that this is because hs is part of the crusade. I don't know what else would keep him going. I've tried to see if he will die when the crusade ends, but haven't been able to get to my objective yet.

Anyone else seen this happen?

Oh god...I was dreading the day people in the TW community would start saying words like "uber" and "leet"

Let's hope CA doesn't fix this neat "feature" in the next patch.

He is living on Holy Spirit.

[cut in, a movie trailer showing a series of clips from epic battles, enter a low, whiskey corrupted voice:]

He can't die untill his mission is complete. He is the old Holy Ghost Warrior from the Western Lands, come to lay his vengeange upon the infidels.

..The Ghost King.

Better not let that crusade end - you may not have any living heirs and then you go into civil war.

I'm actually thinking about killing my Emperor now. He was excommunicated (twice now) and this is causing lots of revolts in my interior, which is slowing my final conquests up a great deal. He is now 125 years old with lots of good perks, but the excommunication negates it...

Yes, they can. They can't leave once they do, of course. How else would we have Richard or Fredrick lead their crusades in MTW?

Its probably not a good idea to send your ruler crusading, at least for most empires. I wish I hadn't, but at least it has kept the old boy going. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
