hello. first of, can i just applaud the creators of possibly the best game ever made... europa barbarorum is amazing as games go... now please can someone help.. iam playin europa barbaborum version 1.1 as the greeks. since 240bc i now have a ctd every time i go to fight a battle.. i reload the game and am then able to fight the battle, but as soon as the next battle arises i hav the ctd again.. it matters not who i fight against, the romans, mackidonians or selucia (pardon my spellin) this problem persists. is there any simple way of rectifying this frustratin occurrance??

thank you 4 replyin... since posting my problem i did install all fixes. i then deleted all saved games, and started afreash as cartharage.. i got to 260bc and the game started to crash again as soon as the battle screen went to load... wot i dont understand is, i was playin rome and got to the year 210bc wiv out any problems at all,( apart from a bit of boredom).. hence why i went forwards with the greeks... ive just read your- how to ask for help with a crash, so before i get my pants in a twist and start pulling my hair out i shall try and follow the suggestions and instructions and post the nessecery information.. thank you for trying to address my problem thou.

You may not have installed the fixes correctly, for these kinds of crashes are typical of missing sprites, which one of the fixes addresses. Please run the validation so that I can see what you've done. Make sure to select the checklist including the fixes (B).

Note that deleting your savegames is never necessary.

thankyou for once again takin the time to reply.. i have just run the validation that you suggested.. in the results it says i have a dodgy install and missing files... there is a very very long page showing all that is missing, replaced and so forth... i am runnin on windows xp.. now i am really stuck.... i completely uninstalled rtw and eb last night then reinstalled both as i thought that might work, and not bein very sharpe at computers that took me all of 6hours...but wot should i do now?? as the validation says its a dodgy install..do i completely remove everything from my computer, ie-rtw and eb and reload again?? i started a new campaign earlier and the ctd is still hinderin me.. war is never simple..... o, and i am also installing eb 1.1 onto the rtw gold edition, could this be the cause of my dodgy install??

since posting my last thread, i have completely uninstalled rtw & eb.. i have now re-installed rtw v1.1 and patched up to v1.5, and re-installed eb v1.1.. and have installed all fixes, correctly this time.. its only takin me 3 hours, this time, which has made me happy as i must be gettin better.... ive run the validation check again, which has give me a list of missin files, mainly sprites, but underneath that is a list of added files, which counter all the missin ones.. is that wot is meant to happen when you install the fixes??? thank you for your time.

hi... since startin a new game as the greeks,i have got to the year 269bc, no crashes hav occured yet, but on spying on the makidonians i hav noticed in the town of demetretius, there barracks are showing 2 pictures of peasents instead of the true units.. i have saved the game there and hopefully uploaded the saved game.

it seems to be the makidonians that cause my cdt later in the game, so i hope this imformation helps in erradicating this very annoying and persistent cdt.

It appears that you have now successfully installed RTW and EB into the correct folder, but you probably didn't install the fixes in the correct folder. Please post the validation results here so I can tell you where you went wrong.

Ahem, popping in for the same reason I always do in the Battle CTD threads.

Are you both certain this isn't a memory problem?

Memory crashes can occur from anywhere between an End Turn and both intro and outo Loading Screens - anywhere the player has no direct control really.

Crashes while loading a battle could be a memory issue yes, but not when it consistently succeeds after starting the game anew, only to crash the same way in the next battle. That is a surefire indication of missing sprites, which one of the fixes will fix.

Ah, I'm sorry, I understood it not as the next battle - but someway into the campaign.

Nevermind! Good luck JamminJ!
