Whilst waiting for someone to answer me about my spy problem, I went out of the EB Fora and into Vanilla RTW - and I envy the Guide thread there, in which every faction from, "Spain", to Seleucia is completely and thoroughly discussed with a minimum of 200 pages - begun graciously by Frogbeastegg.
Why can we not have a similar thing in what is meant to be our Guide sub-forum?
We have about four very out-dated Qwerty and MIDX guides, with one I think from Teleklos.
Can one of you EB mods remove the outdated guides, and replace the old stickies with 20 official discussion threads for each faction?
Or if you think they would be successful enough, simply place them officially amongst the AARs.
This way, in time, there would be an Encyclopaedia on each faction similar to those Vanilla guides.
Or perhaps an EB guide sub-forum could be made outside in the public area - like the XL guides for MTW.

I know you, you are the notorious spammer.
I believe I would like to shake your hand.
Now, I would also prefer more serious discussion on this point.

Because I am not banned in practice, as you should be.
Thank you for sustaining the life of my thread.
Please, others, I am interested in the start of these guides.

The game guides could be done in a more EB way, so to speak. That meaning, that (possible, in situations) historical expansion routes and methods could be introduced, so not only would the guides contain simple gameplay information, but also facts about the expansion, history and historical army compositions of the faction(s)... If someone's willing to do that, of course.
The is a roman guid in the AAR forums exactly like the one the general decribed.

I noticed the Baktria gameplay guide needs some updating - it still talks about the Yuezhi being a faction and the map has clearly been changed since it was written, too.

I'm too busy working on EB2 stuff to worry about updating the Baktria one that I did (or the Mak one, or the KH one). And Qwerty isn't around anymore. Nor is Malrubius.

If not actual guides, I wouldn't mind seeing general X Faction: Tips and Strategies threads, wherein players could share some of their, well, tips and strategies for playing X faction.
I know their are some factions I'm just afraid of starting because I have no idea what to do first, either in terms of historical expansion or just to get going in a non-historical campaign.
Plus, it seems like there are always posts from players seeking advice on starting, for example, a Hayasdan campaign. I know I posted awhile back for advice on starting a Seleukia campaign and Hax was so kind as to give very concise advice. Just might be easier to have a specific thread to turn to for advice on a particular faction.
Just a thought.
Cheers!

Well. If people want to start their own Gameplay Guides aka those for vanilla RTW here on ORG, feel free.
Should they prove to be succesful maybe we can sticky them, but if they fail, please don't bump them. If a thread is meant to die, die it shall. :skull:

Although I don't really go into any detail on specifics about units or what buildings you should be building and why.
If the OP is thinking something like the guides many games have where they go into detail about each and every unit, building, region and trait, then that's a lot of work.
