How does one compute the affect a given accumen rating will have on a specific province in terms of income?

In the campaign I'm running, I got this event saying essentially that banking was invented (profit made from holding other people's money)... Then all of a sudden all across my realm about half my governors developed vices that subtract from 10-30 percent off agriculture and trade income! My yearly profit was suddenly decimated.

Wierd.

So now I need to determine if a 5 or 6 quill accumen governor with an income vice should be replaced by a 4 quill guy.

Gad, what a management nightmare! And there's no sortable list of generals or anything in the game, I have to scan each frickin general by hand. And since I own half the world, I forget every round which were the bad guys I wanted to replace...

Sigh.

Anyway, how do you compute the affect of accumen?

As I read from the past posts, each quill is 10% bonus.

Depending on the V&V and province income, I will consider replacement or just leave it as is.

I would replace a 5-6 accumen with corrupt V&V (-20% to -30%) by a 4 accumen no V&V.

If the province doesn't generate much income, I would leave a 4-5 accumen with V&V that reduce income by -10% to -20% but raise happiness.

If the province generates a big part of my income, I would consider to put a 4 accumen no V&V in power.

Ok, that's very helpful. Can anyone corroborate this 10% figure?

That seems to be about right, because I see farm income jump around 40% or so when I give a no-governor province to a 4 quill guy, IIRC. Maybe a bit less.

yeah, 10/100 seems accurate. I've never found it false on the few calculations I made.

Yes that seems right.

But don't replace him if he is the govenor of a lowincome province and he gives a lot of happiness and/or zeal...

Income is not everything, and if this guy is a Rank 7 general and the province grants a star then it is worth having a lousy income there.

Check the title before give it away.

I'm the habit of keeping 4 quill units by themselves where ever they are so I can find them more easily when I need a new governor. With a growing empire there are so many units around that having at least a 3 quill man everywhere is not hard to do. When vices finally overtake the brilliant bean counters I shunt them off to an impoverished backwater or send them to the front.
