I have thought about my game experiences with various factions and have come up with some ideas. It'd be nice if you guys could help refine the ideas and give feedback, as well as give historical perspective, tell your own ideas, and maybe even... just maybe... help them come true, or help me make them come true.
probably to be compatible with City-Mod and Spoils of Victory...
Indian Longbowmen
Slightly improve Indian Longbowmen melee attack. I mean come on, they have the coolest secondary weapon on an archer that I've ever seen! I'd think they'd have to be a cut above other archers in terms of close combat capability. I also think, as their description alludes to it, that their range should be increased.
Some Denser formations, phalanx
Making certain units have denser formations, and attack in that formation. Perhaps Dacian 'phalangites', Mihlnat, and others should attack this way. Sort of like a shield-wall. Hoplites should also have their own phalanx like in the Phalanx Mod.
Syracuse stronger
Make Syracuse start off as a very strong eleutheroi city, like the Boii and Lugii, to show how powerful they were for some time. Perhaps without an army as badass as the Boii and Lugii's are. I think a small stack of experienced and somewhat upgraded Syracusian Hoplites would be good... enough to fend off early Roman or Carthaginian attacks.
Roman connections
Make the CP Roma have some ties with Emporion and Messana. If I remember correctly, in the Punic Wars, the Poeni threat on the cities made Rome consider war. I don't know how valid this is. But perhaps something like how Koinon Hellenon declares war sometimes when someone attacks Sinope or Trapezious, or Pantikapaion.
Indian military colony, Charax
Allow either high MIC or new building at Charax to make Indian units for Saka, IF the Saka own all three Indian provinces and have the Saka Reforms in place. This would represent a Saka attempt to establish an Indian military colony at the mouth of the Tigris and Euphrates in the Persian Gulf to reduce the costs of transporting elephants and soldiers all the way from Indo-Saka India. Just a thought from a logistical and game-play point of view.
Poeni Colonization
When the Qarthadast conquer an area, if the province has a level 3 rule or hgiher, Carthaginian Citizen militia can be recruited. I know this is practically useless in actual military, but it would represent Carthaginian immigration to the new colony. Perhaps as a bonus, the higher level MIC in a level 3 or higher gov't can also allow Carthaginian citizen cavalry to be trained.
Teuton/Cimbri invasion
Is this what the Sweboz reforms is all about? Why not have a giant Germanic invasion, like the Yuezhis, but from Scandinavia, that will ravage all the way down to Gaul and Italy if not defeated before... ?
just some ideas of mine, feel free to discuss, add, or attempt! :beam:
