Hello,
I was playing the Sicilians in the 1092 mod by Paladin to try some changes I'd made and chose GA rather than conquest. From what I saw, it doesn't seem to be much use for minors.
While I had goals (4 crusades), I had no homelands or conquest goals. When I completed a crusade and held the province for a few years I didn't score any points.
Now, not having played GA much before and never having done a GA crusade, I don't know for sure that what happened is correct.
So, for those of us slow to understand, could someone please tell me if you score points immediately for a crusade as soon as you get the completion parchment, or are you supposed to hold it until the end of the GA time period. In my case, that would be 1204.
On another subject, now that I've played with all units (bar siege, naptha and hash) being the same size a bit more, I'm inclined to say that that one thing seems to restore units to their rightful places all around. Heavy cav is to be feared for their shock value, spears still hold ground (though now, not forever) and shock infantry can kick spear butt. All in all, this seems a likely solution for all the turmoil about spears and cav, at least for SP.
