... is it possible to change a character's age through the console, rather than the script? There is no way to change a character's age whatsoever.

Don't forget that a random number generator is used to determine whether a character dies of old age or not. So if you leave a couple of spies / diplomats unused, save (don't rely on autosave!!!) before you hit the "end turn" button, then you can try until your character survives.
Not the most nice thing, but then at least you can boast you have a decrepit character in his 90's or even beyond that!
Once you get through his tricky 120's, his age resets to 0.
to zero? does that mean he is young again n will live another 120 years of save/load?
Yes, it happens in FATW alot, as you have a starting character age 90 something.

The 4-turns per year must really make this frustrating, though. Besides, wouldn't you have to exit EB and reload it to properly activate the script each time your character dies and you start over? That would be a pain for the slower computers.
But it's still a neat thing.

damn, I just started playing FATW again, and had a guy dying at 118 :wall: should have reloaded! FATW runs soooo fast on my comp, reloading takes 5 secs, and there is no script.
meth: when did anyone tell you to exit EB each time you reload? to activate script it is as simple as clicking a city to pop out the advisor after you reload. of course the load times is a pain with EB, but why would anyone need to do it with EB?

There may be some confusion with reloading other save games using different factions. IIRC you need to exit EB and restart it if you want to change from 1 faction to another, but not if you are reloading the same faction. Does that make sense?
no, it doesn't make sense. activating EB script is just clicking a city after each reload, then clicking the show me how button. I am playing like 4 campaigns atm, I never had to restart EB whne I changed to a different faction.

huh. That's odd. Maybe Foot can clarify this or something...?
You pretty much have to restart the entire program if you want to change from one faction to the other. I've encountered plenty of times where my government buildings were destroyed when I didn't do such a thing.

The game doesn't force you to restart, it can just mess up the script if you switch campaigns without restarting.
EDIT: Korlon beat me to it.

You don't have to exit the game, but the script will mess up when you activate the script for one faction then quit and activate it for a different faction before exiting and restarting RTW.exe. In fact, the script may mess up if you activate the script, then load a game for the same faction and activate the script again. I personally never activate the script more than once in any one game session.
woah, I guess I am lucky? I rarely reload, but when I do, I usually reload a few times in succession, and activates the script everytime. I don't remember anything going wrong when I do that :()
yea, same here... i've started a couple of new campaigns, after playing with a different faction without reloading the game. What kinda problems would you get from that? Should i be prepared for some problems further down the line?
I believe there aren't any real troubles, except your government buildings getting messed up. Also there could be a few extra CTD's perhaps.
It's more a nuisance than a real game-breaker.

Doesn't the money script get messed up as well? Like if say Pontus got the Ptolemaioi's money or something.
