It saddens me to find that I can no longer indulge in one of my favourite STW pastimes: that of stabbing an ally in the back on the battlefield....and getting away with it.
When I invaded rebel-held Sardinia as the French, the Italians sent a force with 60 more men then me, obviously hoping to keep the place afterwards. Having routed the rebs in short time I noticed that the Italian general's unit was isolated from the rest and just right to be surrounded. Loathe to let him get his hands on Sardinia, especially as I'd done all the fighting, I set about him.
His once-100 man unit was down to about 30 and the rest were doing their headless chicken impersonations when the last rebel fled from the field and the battle ended.
I was informed that the alliance had paid off, Sardinia was in Italian hands due to their larger force and they sent their gratitude.
The Pope gave me the yellow card/two year warning.
All my previous allies snubbed me in favour of the Italians.
Why did the battle end prematurely?

King Richard : St Juniper once said, "By his loins shall ye know him and
by the length of his rod shall he be measured." The length of my rod is a
mystery to all but the Queen, and a thousand Turkish whores, but the
fruits of my loins are here for all to see. I have two sons, Henry and
.... another one.
Step forward, Harry, Prince of Wales.
