Short / Long Game Turn Limits?

I thought I read somewhere that the long games lasted 225 turns and the short games 115 or so, but searching through the manual I cannot find this information again...

Can anybody confirm this, as so far all my short games seem to have given me a turn limit of 225, according to the in-game objectives screen...

Short games last the same amount of time but only have reduced victory conditions (15 instead of 45 regions, and you need to eliminate a faction or two usually)

You can play beyond the 226 turn limit though, but you can't get the victory screen after then.

Thanks. I'm not sure where I got 115 turns from, but that was impossible on VH with my traditional slow plodding technique.

I switched to a far-more-effective blitz strategy at about 100 turns and finished on 114 - with only, ooh, 101 turns left to go!:wall: )
