A question about the AI

Before i begin saveing money ofr this game, let me ask one qustion.

Is the AI BETTER or WORSE then STW? Thats all I need to know.

AI matters alot to me because I don't have the best connection or patience to play online. PLus i like to pause to give orders. LoL

If its AI sucks as much as people says it does I think I won't bother..

Overall it's BETTER than STW. The AI still has problems but I find it to be more of a challenge than STW.

I can sympathize with your slow online connection. Unfortunately, if you're looking for a real challenge then another human player is still your best bet. It's going to be quite some time before AI in a game as complicated as MTW can consistently outthink a human opponent.

If you want more of a challenge then do yourself a favor and don't pause to give orders. It adds to the challenge of commanding in realtime and gives you a better idea of how chaotic things can get in the thick of battle.

Many people have pointed out certain weaknesses of the AI to the devs who, to their credit, have actually addressed some of them and told us to expect the fixes in the upcoming patch.

If you've got to pause then the AI must be a bit better then your giving it credit for.

The AI is ok. Most of the whining (sp) is from MP-supremists - don't listen to them.

It does do some seemingly stupid things at times akin to the dreaded daimyo-charge in Shogun. most of the times it delivers a solid challenge (for me) with flanking and well-timed charges.

Remember that the tactical game is only about half of the medieval experience, the strategic is great in itself.

Buy the game - it'll be the best money you ever spent.

Have to agree there, I would go so far as to say this game has saved me money, because i havn't thought about buying another game or getting drunk as often while i've had it. It has however put ideas into my head about buying a new PC http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

on the one hand, it did same me money too, as my social life took a spectacular dive for a months and I cut dramatically all expenses (movies, restaurant, bars, etc.)

On the other hand, I had to buy a lot of Dvds for my girlfriend to keep her quiet, and I'm talking dvds I will not watch ('the swan lake', the whole 8th season of friends, etc). Well, I might watch some friends, once I'm done with my british campaign....

The a.i. is pritty much as MI but STW was better.

And if the MP´s complain alot it cuz the a.i. is to simple to beat so they went online to gain a much greater challenge.

Online u never c the enemy doing a parade infront of ur shooters or as some1 said, rushing forward with their gen no matter how good he is.

So if u gonna play MTW go for the online games. And some1 said that the strategic part is good it isnt, if u wanna play strategic theres other games that cover that better.

But I have to say that STW (not MI or WE) is the best game i ever played and MI is 2nd. And MTW is 1 of the 5 best game i ever played. Maybe when/if the patch comes it be the 2nd best game.
