I would suggest not doing the campaign on Easy/Easy, unless you never get tired of no competition. I usually play on Medium/Medium, atleast the AI puts up a beter fight. I would suggest putting the difficulty up as you my soon get bored of being able to beat everything all of the time

I always play battle: Medium and campain: Hard or Very hard
Basically, Caesar, you cannot live up to that name playing on easy. Get the challenge whacked up!
I play only on VH/VH... :)
Lesser options are not challenging enough :)

Ay, give the man a break. We have different difficulty thresholds. =) I've graduated to M/M and for the most part find it a better experience, but that's just me. For some people even H/H isn't quite challenge enough, for some M/M is already quite a handful (like me), and for yet some people E/E is just fine.

After installing patch 1.5 my Scipii VH/VH campaign crashes all the time. There I was the conquerer of Iberian Peninsula, Africa, Egypt etc. :)
I had to start from beginning. I've chosen Carthaginians. I restarted three times, before I realized that losing some cities is not that bad. Spaniards and Gauls pushed me out of Iberian Penisula. Julii took Sardinia. Brutii even came down and took Thapsus. :) Numidians are hostile, greeks also. :dizzy2:
i was a nice day when I finally upgraded my barracks and became able to train Poeni infantry. :) Thapsus is mine, Brutii blood cover whole Northern Africa. Now my armies march to hit numidians. Those sneaky bastards kept my lightly garrisoned towns under siege (it's good that my generals were able to deal alone with those javelinmen).
The challenge is almost gone. :) I'm superior.

That somehow reminds me of my first game on VH/VH as the Scipii senpuu, although for me it was much more of an uphill struggle for the first few turns. My initial family was wiped out and I was relying on a couple of adoptees to maintain my empire. In other words there wasn't a single Scipii left on the family tree.
My main problem was that I spent too much time dealing with Syracuse. Due to the battle map difficulty, I was finding it very hard to win due to the dramatically increased attack they had. This diminished my forces, and left me unready for Carthage's onslaught.
In the end I gave up on Scilly and, after building up my Italian military and economic infrustructure, simply went straight to Africa. Some how they were letting their guard down over there - cities were nearly empty. Presumably this was due to them feeding their war on the neighbouring islands.
In the end I took Carthage and later too the more Southern settlements as well. Strangley enough, they only sent out one force and, after that they never came back to claim them.
In the end I took over Carthaginian Scilly by using my African wealth to deal with their forces. It was difficult due to the battle map difficultly, but, after many failed attempts I managed to wresle control off them. This didn't quite destroy Carthage, but it just left them with some flimsy settlements off the coast and a colony in Spain.
