Crashes when the game opens

Im the biggest noob at this game and have no idea what to do...so please excuse me. When i open the game it goes to the first europa barborum picture...you know when u first wait for the game to load and it takes ages...anyway then its done goes to the intro scenes then begins loading...but as soon as it begins loading it crashes? what do i do?

Did you edit the game files in any way, or did u just install it very recently...?

Well i installed the game a few months back, played it worked fine. Then i stopped playing it. I tried to play yesterday and it didnt work. I didnt touch the files.

I would reinstall it.

If you installed it a few months back, you should upgrade to 1.1 anyway. Install RTW, patch it to 1.5 unless you've got RTW Gold, and install EB 1.1 into the same folder.

You can also try to uninstall Nero if you've installed that in the meantime, and the rest of the suggestions in the validation sticky.
