I have to open my internet browser multiple times before it'll work, because I seem to always get a non-responsive message.

I just now had to open and close down the program four times because it kept opening in a non-responsive state.

Is there any way to fix this without having to buy any repair programs?

When a program is not responding, most of the time it'll be because your PC is clocked out at 100% usage (open up task manager). So naturally you should shut down other programs when a power hog program is in use. However an internet browser isn't really a power hog, so.... hmm...

Of course!

Every computer has a "random program destruct" feature that is embedded and well hidden in the hard drive. This is the base chance of a program randomly becoming not responsive and/or crashing... this chance is effected by how old your PC is, how long it's been turned on, and how much you've yelled at it in the past few months. On my PC the, chance is 93%. :2thumbsup:

It even does this when said program is the only thing I'm attempting to run.

But if I'm running it with something else open, that something else is most likely only a wordpad or notpad file.

Try reinstalling the browser I'd say.

Is this happening as you are trying to start up? A startup process could be refusing to shut down.

No, just when I attempt to open the internet browser.
It happens very rarely with anything else. Once when I attempted to save changes on a wordpad file and once when I attempted to save a name change for a picture file, and that was it.
It's only been happening with the internet browser since then.

I've deleted the broswer shortcut and made new ones, and it still does it. I've used the on-screen icon in the lower corner, and it still does it.
I've opened the browser via saved websites, and it still does it, but not quite enough.

I can't reinstall the browser because I have no installation disk.

Ah, your using IE? Download version 7 again and reinstall. For the installation disk, with Windows, there should be a folder on your harddrive called i836, which contains the Windows installer disk, you can reinstall from there.

Alternatively you can download Firefox or Opera, and try either of those.

Spartan198,

check that for me:

When you click to open the browser, hit CTRL-ALT-DEL to bring up Task Manager. Check to see if IEMonitor.exe is spending an abnormal amount of CPU usage. If it is, select it and click End Process button (or whatever it is in your Windows version).

I'm having similar issues and as soon as I kill IEMonitor.exe from Task Manager, the computer is saved.
