EB Trivial Script is a script engine that allows user to easily create graphic interface and to program some simple actions.

It is used in EB to configure Preferences settings, EB specific options like, brightness, units nudity, it also allows you to switch between SP and MP( also custom battle ) versions of EB in two clicks.

Its useful, I would recommend installing it.

Why is it called "trivial script"? Is it disabling any functions of the "normal script"?

It trivialises (ie makes easy) the running of EB in its various modes.

Hehe.
Actually its script because exe by itself doesnt do much. It needs script file that defines both look and behaviour of application.

Its designed to provide none technical user ( unfamiliar with programming ) easy (trivial) way to automate simple ( trivial ) tasks with use of graphic user interface.

And thus it ended up as trivial script.

@Centurio Nixalsverdrus (great name by the way:laugh4: ):

Don't confuse the trivial script with the EBBS campaign script.

The Trivial Script is - as LordBula explained - simply a program which makes it easier to configure EB to your liking, it has no disadvantages or any impact on your actual gameplay (only graphical changes if you'd decide to install one of the Trivial Script's included optional addons).

E.g. if you wanted to play without videos, with movie-cam and in windowed mode you formerly had to edit the shortcut and put in several commands (-ne -nm -movie_cam)

Now you can just start up directly the Trivial Script and change all the settings to your liking in a comfortable GUI being sure not to mess up anything and have it all nice and clean an no chance of messing everything up ;)

So it's more of an interface. Thank you for the explanation.
