Client Ruler Interloper

I added the script optimization the other day, and when I added a client ruler to a settlement in my Romani game, he started getting the interloper trait. I noticed bovi has a client ruler interloper trait fix in his topic, but it says it's not retroactive. What's this mean for me? Are client rulers broken for me now?

We've been talking about it in another thread (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=103754); I've found the same thing, since I installed the optimisation I can't make new client rulers.
