WHOAAA!!!! Forum got messed up!

Umm...

Okay, this was really bizarre. I was editing a post in the gameroom, when all of a sudden, when I hit the 'finish edit' button, I was taken to this really bizarre "alternate" tw org universe. It was sorta like the sword dojo, only instead of being a true forum, it was more like a bunch of blogs people had posted, with no coherence to the order, and with really weird ads all over the place. Furthermore, I'd been logged out. So, I tried logging in on this "other" tw org, when I found that it wouldn't let me in. So I had my password sent to my email address, only to find that, according to this "alternate" tw org, I was still kamikhaan! So I logged in as kamikhaan, and then clicked a link, and suddenly, I was back to the regular tw org! This just happened about 8 minutes ago, did anyone else experience something like this? I don't have a screenshot, I hadn't thought of it while I was trying to figure out what was going on.

Yeah i was stuck there, some kind of crazy disorganised version of the .org forum, i even tried going to threads i had favourited but kept booting me back, eventually got on here then, was stuck there about 5 minutes

I'm not positive, but I think that happens when the forums are being backed up.

I've seen it before. I think it's a default page for when the forums "go away" for a bit. I didn't have to clear anything, I just waited a minute and reloaded.

Yikes, if that's true, Drone, that's good. However, it rather took a while to get back up. I was starting to wonder if I would ever be able to get back to the org.:bigcry:

https://forums.totalwar.org is the start url. It's not a forum, it includes a blog https://forums.totalwar.org/?q=blog open to all members and also a better tool for books/guides/manuals: https://forums.totalwar.org/?q=book

A CMS can contain other modules, for example links to other tools like https://forums.totalwar.org/wiki, https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/local_links.php and http://www.totalwar.org/gallery

Edit: the forums are taken down when making a backup, and visitors are redirected to this front page. The whole process can take a few minutes. Hours or days when disaster strikes. The front page is also there when the forum is not down.
