I've just finished playing as the Teutonic Order, and thats me now had a go at each campaign. Its all been very fun so far, but I think the victory conditions are maybe a bit demanding. I like to do a mizxture of short and long campaigns, depending on whether or not it suits the faction and would feel realistic. Having just completed a long campaign as the KoJ in Crusades, I went for the Short Campaign with the Teutonics. However, I had to conquer 35 regions and basically hold the capitals of each major faction. To me, fighting the Pagans is the fun part of being the Teutonic Order, but because I was able to steamroller Lithuania I spent most of my time fighting fellow Christians and the Mongols. I would have liked to spend more time on the Lithuanians since they are more unique and I get more special features. For example, I only got sent on crusading noble all campaign.
Also I noticed that while the Order houses I am offered do not give any Knights, they do say they give an income bonus of +1, +2, or +4 depending on their level. I got a few in various settlements, and noticed that in these settlements the income rose by literally +1 Florins. Which makes me wonder if there is a whole lot of point in this bonus, or if it was not implemented properly?
Also I seemed to get the Hanseatic League HQ too easily. Of the five cities mentioned, I only held Konigsberg. But once I got the HQ the turn I took Visby. Without even having any of the smaller guilds (if there are any -).
And another odd thing was the Dismounted Halbruder. Having a halberd and a shiled just does'nt seem right. Even stranger was the fact that they have 0 for their shield value.
And I wish the Ritterbruder had maces, would have made them that little bit cooler (if that's possible, first time I saw them I was :fainting:).
Anyway it was a very fun campaign, and I liked the fortified villages. The various village mini-regions added a nice element to the campaign.
