Stuck in Vanilla

I am running the Gold Edition, not particularly by choice, but it is happening nonetheless.

I followed the installation instructions.

When I start the game from either the EB shortcut or the RTW shortcut in the EB folder it just takes me back to the same old #&$&ing vanilla version.

The RTW shortcut is meant to run vanilla. No issues there.
The EB shortcut is meant to run EB. If the modswitch does not find EB, then it will run vanilla.

Probably you have installed EB to a folder different than your RTW folder (the folder with the RomeTW.exe in it).

After making a copy of the clean vanilla version I installed it to Program Files/The Creative Assembly/Rome - Total War

Is there a folder in that path called 'EB'?

Please verify that the target line of the EB shortcut includes -mod:eb.
