Hi
I play the Epeiros-Campaign and expand versus east. But unfortunatley there is allways a CTD when i attack Ar.Se. at issos. Before issos, there were 2 or 3 CTD too, after a battle for example oder just when i turned the next round, but after restartig EB worked well.
Just at Issos i cant go on with the campaign, i tried 10 times with and witout the background script, i tried to retreat the troops and attack again, i tried to besiege the town till they attack... in every case theres a CTD. Even the fixes that i found here in the forum did not help...
Here is the savegame, i saved myself
http://speedshare.org/download.php?id=B3459DC43
and this is the auto-save
http://speedshare.org/download.php?id=4B10F7C83
please help

Did you try to autoresolve the battle?

Yes I did. I also tried to retreat and attack again.
I forgot to mention: it's the latest Version of EB, 1.1
Never save the game when a battle is about to take place. It will occasionally make your game crash, as here. It might fix it if you retreat your army, then save the game without any imminent battle and reapply the siege. Assault the next time without saving the game and it could work.
Edit: I tried your other savegame now, and that also crashed as soon as I clicked to assault. Something else must be wrong here, my mistake.
The reason seems to be some unit or building inside Ipsos. I tried to take away the besieging army and double-clicked the city. All good, all the units were question marks. Then I moved a spy close and double-clicked it again, and the game crashed.
Sorry, it seems you cannot take the city in this campaign, and perhaps there is more crap waiting to happen. Perhaps you can take Ipsos if someone else takes the city first, to rid it of the unit(s) in question.
I don't know which unit or building is causing it.
Seems it's the walls, from the FileMon report. Please try to copy the file
<RTW>/EB/data/ui/egyptian/buildings/#egyptian_stone_wall.tga
to
<RTW>/EB/data/ui/egyptian/buildings/#egyptian_stone_wall_select.tga
Edit: Nope, doesn't make any difference. Sorry.

thanks for caring so much, if you find a solution please let me know
meanwhile i'll try to attack another city and wait until someone else takes ipsos.
I thougt its strategically wise to attack the main force of the AS, as long as their empire is splittet in 2 parts. after conquering ipsos it would be no problem to defeat the other city of the western half of the AS-Empire.
Now i have to change my brilliant plans *GGGG*

Perhaps it may help to solve the problem:
the AS offerd me a ceasefire, i accepted under the term that they give me ipsos. They agreed and the game crushed to desktop. I thougt that the troops in the city, when not taken by arms but by diplomacy, just leave.
So it must be a building, doesn't it?
Thanks. Yes, it seems a building is the problem, but I can't understand how. The stone walls is the last thing to be accessed by the game, but supplying the game with the file it appears to be missing doesn't make any difference. The problem is that it crashes whenever we would be able to see what is actually causing it . Anyway, I'm stumped on this and you may have to always leave Ipsos alone. You could consider starting a new campaign, but possibly you'll still have fun with this one despite the limitation you have to put on yourself.

yes, i'm still having fun with this campaign, ipsos is just an seleukid island in my empire now ^^ the fact that a building is the problem becalms me, because if it would be a unit, i'd be f***** up when they attacked.
But of course i'd be very happy if you'd find a solution
