Faith & Conquest
http://www.nichiren-shu.org/boston/pics/main/divider2.gif
Welcome kings, shahs, sultans, and rajas!
Welcome to what might be your first hotseat campaign for Medieval II Total War online! This particular hotseat campaign will be played using the popular total conversion mod Broken Crescent.
Requirements:
The Broken Crescent mod (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=140857)
The Broken Crescent Patch 1.05 (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=142288)
Factions Available:
Faction Information (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=97742) & Faction Units (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=88835)
After you have completed your turn, email me your save game file at Reececapps88@hotmail.com. Please mark your save game file with your faction's name followed by the turn number. So, for example, if you played as the Turks and sent me your first save game file it would read "Turks 1." Once I have recieved your save game file I will email the player whose turn it is next. I will also catalogue everyone's save game file and keep a history of everyone's turn. This will prevent any possible future arguments, cheating, confusion, etc.
Current faction standings:
1. The Eastern Roman Empire ------ Available!
2. The Kingdom of Georgia --------- Available!
3. The Kingdom of Armenia --------- Available!
4. The Kingdom of Jerusalem ------- Available!
5. The Abbasid Caliphate ----------- Available!
6. The Great Seljuks -------------- Reece
7. The Sultanate of Ghazni --------- Ryan
8. The Ghorid Emirate ------------- Available!
9. The Solanki Rajputs ------------ Available!
10.The Ayyubid Sultanate ---------- Available!
11.The Khwarezm Shah ------------ Available!
12.The Kypchak Confederacy ------------ Available!
12.The Turkish Sultanate ----------- Dave
13.The Imamate of Oman ----------- Available!
14.The Malikate of Sindh -------- Available!
15.The Kingdom of Makuria -------- Available!
Rules:
We will be playing version 1.05 of Broken Crescent (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=142288) and will be admin-enabled to allow me to access the saved games of players who drop and/or to switch factions between player and AI control. This version of the mod is compatible with M2TW 1.2, 1.3 or Kingdoms, and installs in a separate folder so does not affect the vanilla installation.
- Each turn should be completed within 48 hours. Extensions can be granted if more time is needed, however. After 48 hours with no contact from a player I will arrange for the turn to be subbed either by a sub designated by the player, or a neutral third-party sub, or a faction allied to that player.
- All battles, including those between player-controlled factions, may be fought by the attacking player, or auto-resolved.
- Once you have completed your turn, email me your save game file to Reececapps88@hotmail.com. I will catalogue your save game file and send it to the next player in line.
- Players are encouraged to compete in good sportsmanship. Please avoid targeting specific players and cheating.
- Players are encouraged to compete. Please avoid allying with a friend merely because he or she is your friend. Consider asking whether or not the faction you play would have allied themselves with your friend's faction in actual history.
- No exploits. The following exploits are banned. More exploits may be banned as the game progresses. If there is any doubt about exactly what actions these exploits involve, or whether a given action which is not specifically banned would constitute an exploit, please refer to me or any of the other players before completing the turn in question.
- Re-loading of save game to play the turn differently, or to create a different outcome. Players are ultimately responsible for not abusing the save/load option in Medieval. While some re-loads are permissable, what is absolutely not allowed is continuously re-loading until some action based on a percentile chance succeeds-- this includes spying, assassinations, mercantile acquisitions, and auto-resolving battles. If a player is suspected of doing this, then all similar actions to the one under question will be suspended for a number of turns. For instance, if a player is suspected of re-loading in order to succeed in an assassination, then that player is banned from using assassins for a number of turns.
- Targeting players with no valid justification. A player can bring war upon any other player. However, he or she must then justify the reasons behind such action. If no sufficient cause is found, then that player will be asked to ceasefire with that opposing nation. Valid reasons include conflints over land, bordering the faction, defending allies, etc. Invalid reasons include personal grudges, competativeness, etc.
- Merchant fort exploit.
- Surround and destroy exploit (relating to agents, also to armies or ships engaged in battle. An escape route of at least one tile must be left.)
- Deliberately setting up tribute deals which will result in a faction going more than 20k in debt.
- Deliberately exchanging territories for the sole purpose of gaining a free garrison.
Further additions to these rules may be added before and during the game. Merely bring it to the attention of the other players. From there, a vote will be cast to decide whether or not that rule should be enforced.
