Problem with Client Rulers and Mercenary Generals

In my games the client rulers nor the merc. generals have any ethnicity traits. Is this normal or is it a bug? And if it's a bug.. How does one fix it!

The issue is not that important gameplay-wise, but pretty neat for roleplaying :yes:.

Client rulers shouldn't, but generals should.

Or at least in my Romani game, client rulers don't have a gens, but generals do. I believe the genius is the Roman equivalent of ethnicity.
