The JavaChat can be found here (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/javachat.php) if you wish to avoid the usage of a irc client.

The .Org has chat?! :jawdrop:
I'm not really into chat boxes myself, it's just that I've been here for 1000+ posts and that's the first I've heard about it.
Don't feel bad, Spartan. It was nearly three years before I found out about the chat. ~

I think 2005 is about when it was introduced by Tosa. ~;)
The earlier incarnation was 2003 and further back.

The link is in the navigation bar now.
I do not know if it is only my case but I press the link and nothing happens. In fact it's the first time I have tried to use the org. chats. Where is the trick?
And also the cookies and the bold and italic did not work after the update... Any suggestions how to fix that?
: guilty smile follows:
Hello Stephen Asen,
Which skin are you using?

Hello Stephen Asen,
Which skin are you using?
"The Guild"
However, today I am testing "Sengoku" :) But the problem stays the same
Hello Stephen Asen,
It's working here with FireFox, the Guild skin and English (US) language. There's a dropdown menu Chat on the navigation bar. Item Javachat opens a new window/tab and Java asks for an ok. Item Chat w/mIRC opens your mIRC client. You probably need to have one installed or nothing happens. Item Download mIRC script allows you to download a mIRC tool for Windows.

Thanks. My computer is currently broken but once I get it back, I'll fix it.
By the way, do you have any idea why I can not use cookies and the italics?
Thanks.
Hello Stephen Asen,
Cookies not working? That means you have to login again every few minutes?
Is the problem with Italics and Bold that you don't see the buttons or do they not respond?

Oops, I meant smilies. Sorry.
They do not respond.

At a guess you've got JavaScript disabled. Many aspects of the forum structure rely on JavaScript, including drop down menus and the functions of the posting box.
If you are using Internet Explorer firstly select "Tools" on the menu bar and then "Internet Options". In Internet Explorer 7, if you cannot find the menu bar press the "Alt" key to display it.
After the window is open, click on the "Security" tab and then drag the leaver to the "Medium-High" or a lower level.
Refresh the page, and check if the functions are working.
If they are not, then "forums.totalwar.org" may have ended up in the "Restricted Sites" area.
As before, firstly open up Internet Options. On IE 6 select "Tools" and then "Internet Options". On IE 7 with the menu bar hidden, press "Alt" and then select "Tools" followed by "Internet Options".
Scroll to the "Security" section and select "Restricted Sites".
Click on the "Sites" button.
If "forums.totalwar.org", "totalwar.org" or "www.totalwar.org" is on the list, select it, and then click "Remove".
Select Ok, and then Ok again.
If the forum isn't on the list, you may wish to check under the "Trusted Sites" list to see if it's there. If it is, then remove it and, for the future, switch the zone slider security to at highest "Medium".
If the forum isn't on either list them I'm a little confused over what could be causing the problem. You may want to try switching to an alternative browser, such as Flock (http://www.flock.com/), Firefox (http://www.mozilla.org/firefox) or Opera (http://www.opera.com). This is probably advisable anyhow - Internet Explorer, particularly Internet Explorer 6, is a terrible browser when it comes to security, web standards compliance, customisability and overall level of features.
In Firefox or Flock, the instructions are much simpler, firstly select the "Tools" menu and then select "Content". Ensure the "Enable JavaScript" checkbox is checked. After you have done that, select Ok.
Hope this is useful and good luck ~:)

Yes, I'm using Internet Explorer and guess... it's the worst possible scenario. But until my get my good computer back... I am helpless... and I have no other choice but to type the smilies. ~:) Thanks anyway.
