Disabling sound on RTW

I need help disabling the sound on Rome Total War. My onboard sound is broken and I dont have a sound card to put in so I get the unspecified error RTW will now close etc. I tryed renaming the sound file to something else but that did not work. Anyone have any tips?

I don't know if you can even do that, but others may know. I would suggest picking up a sound card, the cheapest ones are really survivable at 25-35 USD. Of course you'll never get acceptable sound from it though.
