Hi guys,
I am pleased to confirm that Empire: Total War will be released in the first quarter of 2009. We are taking the time to make Empire as good as possible and fine-tune every aspect of the game.
Thanks,
Mark O'Connell
(aka SenseiTW)
Riiiight. So it's official now. Good enough then.
Very nice to hear ;) I've been looking forward to the navel battles a lot, and the rest of the time period ofcourse.

Please take all the time you need.

That negative attitude doesnt help. Remember the staff have no obligation to post here we are simply a fan site. They pay some attention to us, that's good enough for me!

Not really, the Empire site, loads more screenshots, more FAQs, more blogs and more will have been released by then. You'll be getting plenty of info.

Its great that its being released in the first quarter of 2009. That gives plenty of time for it to be improved and plenty of time for me to get a new computer. (My current one can barely play M2TW :shame:)

God Bless You Sir.
(And add amphibious assaults, even if they just start at the shore, boats already offloaded.) :beam:
I won't say great. But I will say thank you.
After all, I don't think any of us want a repeat of the M2TW mess.
Please take your time, thrash it good.
Thank you for the update Mark.
PS: That doesn't mean we are not going to scream for it every 5 mins.
Sincerely
fenir

Glad to hear they are taking their time on Empire to get it right, I love M2TW but man it was a mess before the patches. :knight:

If it means the game will be better and less-buggy, they can take all the time they need. I'm really anticipating this game, but if a delay means it'll end up as a better product, I consider this good news then.

If it means the game will be better and less-buggy,
The key word being if, sorry but I'll hold my breath until the game is released to see if these extra months actually add anything.
Heck i'll be impressed if they actually get the empire site up before we hit August but I'm not holding my breath.
Negative opinions are welcome last I checked as long as they are not abusive or over the top.
I'm not hostile towards CA but just don't expect me to be giddy about a game delay for a game I won't see till March.

Winter 2009 at sega.co.uk, does that mean Jan/Feb?

Yes. As SenseiTW stated at the beginning of the thread, the game's due out first quarter of 2009, which means Jan-Feb-March.

Wouldn't it be better to make it with 1s and 0s ?

If they made it with 1s and 0s we would be lucky to see it this side of 2090!
High level languages ftw!
Q1 2009 suits me perfectly since thats about the time very other game dies down and I need a new one!

first quarter of 2009 sounds like a good time to release, I hope the multi player is better than RTW and MTW2 :2thumbsup:

To be perfectly honest I never play anything pre Rome even though I own all the titles but I am becoming quite bored of those and subsequently have not picked up either for a good couple of months. Feb 2009 does sound like a good time for my interest to be revitalised.
I'll give you guys headstart in E:TW learning curve. I'll buy it in Q309 when the price drops down and maybe some bugfix releases. :D
