Hi everyone,
having played a few battles now with both my FL and FH in my army, a mind boggling question came up to my mind:
If both my Faction Leader and my Faction Heir die in the same battle, will my kingdom be destroyed because it lacks both leader and heir at the same time, or will the game just appoint the one FM with the most influence FL, and the one with second-most influence as FH?

Not sure, but I think that the guy that would have become FH if your current FH had died will become FL. Not sure how the computer decides FH though.
I´m certain that you won´t lose though, or at least the AI won´t, as I´ve killed the AI FH and FL in the same battle on several occasions.

By my observations, it decides by the influence score. If both the FH and FL dies in the same battle, I'd think the surviving FM with the most influence becomes FL. If there are more than one with the same highest influence score, then I'd think it goes by command/management. If they're equals there too, I think it's just random.

It would only select the FL, it won't select an heir. At least in my experience.
I think there have been a couple of crashes due to this. Possibly it works in some cases though.

Usually in my campaigns, when both the heir and leader dies in the same battle, the game crashes. However, I have managed to avoid it...by de-activating the script

Well, I just killed off Macedon by killing both their FL and FH in one battle... They just turned rebel, including one army led by a general.

As long as it´s just a general, and not a Family Member, that should be okay.
