I remember in the first Medieval game, El Cid could be bribed easily. In this one, he always says no. So, can he be bribed? And, is he worth the trouble? Thanks all :wall:

Yes he can but he'll be mightily expensive...Seen people do it before though, so it is possible.

Never heard of it in a vanilla game. He's too chivalrous and would cost the earth so you will need to use cheats.

In theory it's possible; if you have a decent diplomat and you can afford loads of money to alter his loyalties..

From what I've seen its near impossible, I've only seen one guy do it and he had to use the add_trait cheat all up on El Cid and basically make him the most despicable human being on the earth to even get him to stop rejecting, lets not even talk about the price.

In My experience you can´t bribe him with 100 000 when having full skilled diplomat who has all possible +chance to bribe traits (cheated to find out if it´s possible to bribe him) I think there should be option to try and marry him into your royal family just like any other general, but no, would be too easy to get superior general to your army early on...

Well if you want to make him marriable via princess you just have to allow the slave faction to have princesses.

You can however bribe William Wallace in the Britannia Campaign quite easily! Haven't tried with any of the other unique characters but i believe it shoudl be possible with any unique general who is not the faction leader, so Richard the Lionheart and Phillip of France should also be bribeable in the crusades campaign.
