I wonder. All My diplomats kinda suck when I recruit them. It is really hard to even get trade rights time from time. And all these failed agreement. Gives them even worser traits. I am Allied with the Seleukids. But since they are bashed up by the Ptol..... (to hard to write...the greek-egyptians) I really need to find new Alliances. But even they who are at war with the ptol.... Refuse my kind offer.

Sure this game is named total war for a reason. But why then, have diplomats at all? When my Legions of death are better diplomats? After all. Who can refuse an offer, With his head chopped off :smash:

Anny way. how do you do the gentle art of diplomacy?

mam (I'm assuming your one-otherwise, sorry sir), if you need to do as you propose, and make an Anti-ptolemaioi coalition, than I would direct you to the force diplomacy minimod:

https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=80763

just follow the instructions to the letter, and you'll be extorting coalitions faster than light travels.:2thumbsup:

I normally use it only in an extreme emrgency, or to stick to a timetable (historically). otherwise, here is what you do:

1-make money

2-show off your men

3-play faction agaist faction

4-practice on BI exe games (not EB)

5-you're done!

Train your diplomats, but yes, I've given up generally on diplomacy without Forced Diplomacy. Especially on Hard or Very Hard campaign difficulty, the AI won't even accept things that are positive because you're the human player.

Diplomats alone won't solve your problems, though. You need insurgent teams of spies and assassins to get to work causing unrest in the Ptolemies provinces. Cause a few revolts and they'll not only struggle for funds and soldiers, but have to redirect their efforts to pacifying their rebellious heartlands too.
