I might as well put this up: What TV series have you watched or is watching and what have your impressions of them been.
My list is a bit long:
Currently Airing:
Battlestar Galactica: Great, great, scifi show. Now since season 4 is focused more on an overaching plot, it may be a bit hard to get into the show, but if you can either rent or buy the dvds of the first 3 seasons, there is very little possibility that you'll hate it.
Stargate Atlantis: Pretty nice I would say. Personally, I don't think it is up to the calibur as some of the other shows that I have watched, but its probably due to the style. I feel that there isn't as much character development as others. That being said, still very entertaining. The previous season, season 4, was I would say the best of the season and season 5 is going to start airing in July.
Terminators: The Sarah Connor Chronicles: At least this show didn't get canceled by FOX as they did with Serenity. The first season only has like 9 episodes due to the writers strike, but a second one is on the way.
Finished Shows on DvD:
Andromeda: The first season, absolutely wonderful. Second season: a slight decrease in quality due to the writer changes in midseason, but still, top quality scifi. Once the third season hit however, the show just went downhill from there. I never even bothered to watch the fifth season and only saw the last 20 minutes or so of the final episode. I would say that its style is much alike to that of the first season of Battlestar Galactica. The mid is pretty grim like BSG and there are some excellent character development. High recommendation of the first 2 seasons only for BSG fans.
Firefly: My, my, a great series canceled way to early. I personally think it has some of the best balance between action and drama/character development of any series. It is just a shame that it only had one season, but there is a movie called Serenity which is also pretty good and attempts to wrap up some of the unanswered questions regarding the series.
Dark Angel: I just started watching this recently, actually. Its actually, surprisngly, very good considering that it is pretty unknown. Only 2 seasons before it was canceled by FOX(I hate those executives), but my general impression of the first 6 episodes of season one has been very good. Apparently, the show's quality drops off in season 2, but I haven't gotten to there yet.
Firefly is the best series ever. Have you seen the movie ' Serenity'? Something is missing but at least it wraps it up a bit. And it has the best space-battle ever. And Summer Glau. prrrrr

I saw Serenity. It helped to warp up the mystery behind the crazy syster whatever her name is, but i felt like it would have taken at least another movie for everything to be explained.
For example, we never know the past behind Book, the blue guys weren't really developed, ect... Did FOX own the rights to the show or something and refused to sell it since you would think that some other tv station would be willing to pick up such a highly reviewed series

The Office: best comedy on TV today (IMNSHACCO).
Netflix has the first three seasons on instant watch.
CR
Scrubs and BSG are easily my two favorite shows right now. Sadly, they are also both on their last seasons. ~:mecry: Ah well, I suppose all good things must come to an end....
Active shows I still watch on a regular basis:
Battlestar Galactica: Currently the best drama on TV -- perhaps ever. Only The West Wing is in the same league IMO.
Scrubs: Just got into this comedy two years ago, but I became addicted almost immediately. A very funny show, yet still heartwarming and serious in the right spots. Am very glad to see that ABC has picked them up for a final season (since NBC wouldn't).
NCIS: Not a very deep crime drama/comedy, but enjoyable just the same. Love the humor and the interaction/relationships amongst the characters.
South Park: I'd not paid it much attention for a few years, as the show felt like it had been sagging somewhat. Parker & Stone have suddenly found their satirical spark again, though, as I've gotten back into it the last couple seasons. Their World of Warcraft episode was brilliant, as was their Imaginationland "trilogy".
The Universe: Yes, the History Channel sucks these days, but I'll admit this show has sucked me in pretty thoroughly nonetheless -- I'm a sucker for astronomical phenomena!
Active shows I've stopped watching:
Chuck: Seemed interesting & funny at first, but the overall setup of the show is simply preposterous. Also, the characters are very uneven -- a few are pretty fleshed out, but the majority just feel like window dressing.
House: Am so very, very bored by the 4th season storyline (with the Cottages doing their own thing and House having to find replacements). I stuck with it as long as I could, but finally gave up about halfway through.
NUMB3RS: A fairly light, yet still interesting crime drama with a decent dose of humor. Had to give it up, though, as it conflicted with Battlestar Galactica. (I also just don't have enough hours in a week to watch that much TV!)

Probably one of the only tv shows i watch semi-regularly (i keep forgetting rather than getting bored) I think its the maths that keeps me intrested as im on a maths type course myself so i can somewhat relate (slightly get my head around his usual mathmatical speech) without the maths i would probably lose interest...
I also wanted to ask about this battlestar galactica, i see it praised so often i have been thinking of getting it, i imagine its some future setting with a few different races/factions in space ? if its somewhat along the lines of the star treks when they were involved in large scale space warfare i may consider getting it...
House, Scrubs, NCIS sometimes, and all the Law & Order reruns on TNT and USA, I watch Bones as well. Don't watch much TV just these couple of shows.

It is simply one of the greatest sci-fi shows ever.
There isn't really many races/factions. Here is a brief background summary:
Some miniseries spoilers hereBasically, humans live on 12 planets. 40 years ago, they had a war with sentient robots they built called Cylons. A truce was established and the Cylons dissappeared. Now, as Battlestar Galactica is being decommisionned, the Cylons manage to take down the human defence systems and launch massive attacks on all human population centers. Battlestar Galactica and its civilian fleet is all that remains of the human race and the fleet attempts to find the lost 13th tribe that is supposed to live on Earth.
I'm rewatching Rome seasons I and II on my computer. It's a shame they didn't make a 3. It could have been quite good.

I thought there were more Lost fans on this forum. Did you all give it up?

I could never say i really got into it, im sure i watched at least 5 episodes and hardly anything happened!
I like to think of myself as someone who can cope with a slow paced show but it was just too slow for my liking...
Thanks Tevash ill have a look into it...
Are there two different stargate series' or is grizzly just easily confuddled ? if there are two different ones whats the difference and which ones better ?

There are two.
Stargate SG1 is the first and just finished with 11 seasons I think.
Stargate Atlantis is a spin-off and will begin to air its 5th season in the middle of July.
I think the quality of the two are pretty comparable, but SG Atlantis, imo, is better simply because Rodney is so awesome

I've been watching S1-2 of Weeds on Blu-Ray. Pretty good show, can't wait for the 3rd season to come out on DVD.
I've also been waiting for the 3nd Season of Dead Like Me although quite frankly I find the main character a little too lackluster and annoyingly unwilling to perform her reaping responsibilities. Although the secondary characters make up for the main characters faults.
Torchwood is a Dr. Who spin-off currently running on BBC TV. Two seasons have been completed and are available on DVD, but are expensive. I've only watched the first 8 episodes so far, but it's quite good.

Want to Watch
I want to watch Firefly, just because of Serenity. I can't believe they would cancel a show that nicely developed. Urgh
Watched or Watching
House - Hugh Laurie as the sarcastic, bitter, druggie who beats on his three helpers. That was a good season. Now, it's not as interesting to watch. You get a sad mix of trying to bring in new people, when all we cared about were the cases and House's quips about them.
The Office - Quotable, funny, and with a pretty decent story as well. Love it, will continue to watch it.
Sticking to comedy.
Re-watching the Blackadder collection and the Thin Blue Line.
Planning to re-watch all Friends and Bewitched seasons thereafter.
