Just getting back into RTW/BI.

Iam on dialup so the big historical mods are too much to download so iam taking small mods and changing files in order to create my own, more than stock, historical simmulation.

Learning alot on the game and the history of the time

Ive realized that its better to have as many factions as possible sharing the models in "descr_model_battle.txt" , cause of the 255 limit, and then use different skins and attributes in "export_descr_unit.txt" to be able to have the most diverse units as possible.

Working right now on creating a recruitable Ex-Roman Soldiers Unit for some of the non roman factions in BI

I have no 3d software so iam just reskinning with photoshop. Maybe use KLA's Celtic swordsman model and then do different skins.

At the moment I have only one book on Rome and it covers only the leaders.

Is this a historical possibilty for some of the factions?
If you have some good websites that cover BI share them

Only really historical as mutineers as the army was pensioned off and given lands. Also, KLA's skin is ( I think) innacurate for BI's legions, but the romans re-inlisted men that had retired sometimes, called Evocatae.

Yes, I created the unit and put in in the game. It repersents Legio deserters, non romans who served and then went back to their homelands.

Iam adding different units to try and reflect social, miltary and other factors of life at the time.

Iam allowing churches and temples to be able to recruit units. Also building roads will allow for certain units to be built.

By using these and hidden resources iam trying to create a sense of all the elements of the game acting on each other.

:beam: I think?!
