So, quickly now folks, before the jury comes back... (http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/06/24/entwistle.deliberations.ap/index.html) did he do it, or didn't he? Has this been getting any play in the European press? Has anybody ever heard of a the defense in a major murder trial doing a worse job (i.e. not calling a single witness)?

He's English, so he's toast.

Most likely guilty beyond a reasonable level of doubt as his final version of events differs from his initial version and forensic evidence on the gun, but there may possibly be a mistrial due to most jurors having heard about the case previously and thus having a preformed opinion.

Hey, we let one of your nannies shake a kid to death and let her go, even AFTER we convicted her. :laugh4:
All kidding aside, according to his version of events, she shot herself THROUGH the baby, using a 22. Forget about the 4 foot long arms that requires (that could explain the dissatisfaction with his sex life though :laugh4:), a 22 would be deflected traveling through the body of the baby, no?
And is he claiming that SHE returned the gun to her father's house, or that he did?

From what I've heard so far (and I don't partake in huge amounts of media coverage... ) his story just doesn't ring true. Your wife commits infanticide and suicide and you flee the country? Sorry, don't believe it.

It reminds me of that joke.
A Palestinian is found dead on the West Bank with 50 gunshot wounds to the head, the Jewish coroner said it was the worst case of suicide he'd come across in twenty years.
As for this guy, he looks like he's been watching too much tennis to me.
So he killed his wife and child because he wasn't getting any? :stare: ... And the second alternative was his wife shooting his child and then herself.. because .. ??? playing around with the gun? not getting any??
Too little to go on.

Too little to go on.Enough to have a good laugh at someone else's tragedy.

Guilty then.
@DC, its got a little coverage, over here but not much. The nanny got a lot more.
So, our notoriously fair minded press had the chance to run with "innocent brit faces colonial miscarriage of justice", and even they walked slowly away.
Seriously, you can keep him.
Any theories on why he did it?
Guilty. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7474358.stm) "A British man has been found guilty of the murder of his American wife and nine-month-old baby by a US jury."

I blame the baby.

From the way the BBC made it sound his defense consisted off his lawyer showing how the wife could have shot herself and the baby.... and that was it !?
Guilty of Innocent if i ever walked into a courtroom charged with murder i would hope i have more of a defense, not that i know but his lack of defense combined with the prosecutions overwhelming evidence he does seem rather guilty...

Be fair Grizzly , they also tried the when the police went in to discover the bodies they didn't have a warrant to get evidence on what caused the bodies to happen so the evidence they found shouldn't be used in court line .

I can see why it was essential to go out and hire a solicitor, im sure your average bored daytime viewer of crappy detective shows could come up with better stuff...
