Hi,
After reading the topic about pirating the EB, mine seems not worth looking at. But I hope somebody could still give me an explanation.
I am playing EB with ALexTW.exe and I realized that nobody wants to day of old age in my family. I am in 219 BC and all my initial members of the Macedonian family still live, excepting Antigonas who was killed in a battle. They are 105 years old, 97, 89 and so on. In spite of that, and even a plague, they refuse to die. I also saw that the initial generals from other factions, like Carthage or Arche Seleukia or Ptoleis still live.
I have played EB with AlexTW.exe before, but I have never experienced such a strange thing. I modded a little bit the desc_strat at the beginning of the game to give each member of my family a golden chevron bodyguard and extracash, but that's all.
Another thing that it is changed in my usual game is the newest unofficial bug fixer that I applied on few days ago, the one that should speed up the game and fixes some strange thing with the German reform.
It's kind of funny to see all the old guys fighting in Persia against Seleukeia and Baktria... they are all with "One foot on the grave" and "Decrepit", but still fight like hell on battlemap where they don't show their actual age.

The only time I remember this happening to me is that exploiting the save/reload bug I got a family member to 120, and then his age was reset(ie he stopped dying every other turn)
So if you get your family members to 120 they WILL be immortal :)

That is bizarre. Worth remembering though, that Alexander's veteran infantry carried on fighting into their sixties and seventies.
This is a problem that appears in Maksimus' Alex mod, and may also exist with alexTW.exe (though I don't know). Regardless if you have modded the game at all (including installing third party modifications) it gets very difficult to solve problems.
Finally, why the hell do people persist in posting bug reports outside of the bug report forum. I know its the minority, but it surely ain't that difficult.

maybe they are the reincarnation of ramses I
well...I'm using alx.exe and if we avoid the fact that I think my campaign is dead since I tweaked some files (I'm still waiting for help ::drama2:: ) but I didn't had any problem in fact Dentatus (the first faction leader died at 64 (a bit to early for my tastes) , he's the only one who has died , case I'm only at 240 , but several spys and assassins died too if that matters
try the alex.exe updated files (my sig) , as for your campaign... dont know... if anything works , I guess you could do several suicidal charges to enemy phalanxes when the time comes:charge:

Sorry for posting outside the bug section of the forum!
Anyway it seems that all my generals refused to die of old age. I am in 199 and I got bored with so many old people. So I rushed my oldest general in front of 300 men army and guess what: he is kind of a Superman too. He killed almost all of them. So I stopped playing the campaign because it is getting bizzare how an 116 year old general can wipe out an entire army.

Put him on the weakest, most useless ship you can find, and go hunt pirates.
That is a problem of the ALX.exe: all characters are immortal to prevent Alexander from dying of old age. because he must be kept alive to win the campain. Consult Maximus' thread, it is solvable - but not with saved games.
well now a second FM died in my alex campaign (as well as the campaign itself :P) , so I think you missed something when you switched to alex
I havent encountered a problem whit alex yet
Running the game using Alex.exe, is not just create the approprite shortcut, there are a few steps you need to take, and you skipped (at least) one: Add Immortal trait in EDCT to prevent immortal characters.Read the EB Alex thread below and follow all the instructions.
