For pure income, I belive that mines and ports are the best alternative. For population growth, farms and public health buildings. For recruitment.. Well, MIC's, obviously. For defences, walls. And for public order, law and happiness (And public health ??, not sure). Some buildings can also give your family members traits, like schools and such while other buildings may benefit your troops (+ exp, +morale). Roads are important for infrastructure and lets your armies march faster, wich is always good. Markets, while not bad for the economy, are not too great compared to mines and ports.

What you should focus on is up to you! But I do belive that the general conses is that you should always have a stable economy since that is the basis for your empire. More money = Larger/More armies and more construction projects at any given time. Thus, you should focus on ports and mines as fast as possible. After that its pretty much up to yourself. MIC's in core provinces for training troops, defences at border provinces for defence, happiness/law buildings in newly conquered territories quickly followed by ports/mines and later MIC's + defences is the way I usually play, and it has never failed me. Choosing wich buildings to build when, and where, is part of the strategy aspect of the game, and the roleplay, should you wish.

Hope that sums it up for you! :sweatdrop:

Hm.. Tricky one, for me atleast. I'm not sure. Personally I'd look at the settlements population growth, and at the unit rooster. If its a core province with good troops available but with low population growth, I'd say farms, for manpower to your armies. But if the population growth is stable (You dont want it too high, in my experience, keeps squalor etc at lower levels) I just ignore the farm-buildings and go for markets. Likewise if its a province thats in a safe area, guarded by other cities with garrisons/troop-training capabilites around it/in the near vicinity, but without any good troops available, I'd just go for the market. This is all personal preferences though but to me its worked well so far. :smash:
